12.01.2022 ArchiCAD Libraries: Libraries like any decent chucnk of project collateral/data needs to be managed let it blow out and cause file performance issues. I've always taken the view that every architectural project should have just 3. - Global - Company Specific - Project Specific... Global: is the current version of the library supplied by the Graphisoft. Generally fixed/locked and not updated unless Graphisoft provides an update Company Specific: is a library developed and curated to the business needs and all the sectors that it may operate in. Drawing titles & labels, furniture types for marketing drawings etc.. Project Specific: is a library developed for the needs of the project. You may save IFC & DWG created objects to this folder as well as other bespoke items. Any items developed for a project that could be used on other projects should be promoted to the Company specific library. Items like truck turning circles etc may qualify for this. I'm not a fan of embedded libraries as they had been known to cause issues in years way past however it had been the only way to develop stair objects in the past. I do try to avoid using one.
