Please select a membership. Also don’t forget to join a class each session- as your sign-in. Udokn Plain English Terms and Conditions Udokn is a modern system that gives the customer control. The client has 100% responsibility to join, cancel and update changes to membership. The only requirement is to be active when attending classes. You can cancel, upgrade, downgrade at any stage. Be aware that this will start a new cycle from the time you make the change. Your current membership remains recurring until you make a change or cancel. Cancelling or changing midway through a monthly cycle please note that there are no refunds or credits for unused classes within a monthly billing cycle. In this picture, Coach Nick Pudney is seen observing students drill one of his Chin Strap Retention strategies from entering an Open Guard, to being Bridged into an Inverted North -South position, and then into Mount for the finish. Nick's classes are always popular, and for good reason. The author (this summary is written by Will) humbly submits that we're fortunate to have with us some absolutely World Class Coaches at Lange's, and Nick is an o...utstanding Martial Artist, and Coach. We're at an advantage, and are lucky to have Coaches like Nick, who can teach intricate techniques successfully, to every level of student. 07.01.2022 Anthony Lange demonstrating De La Riva, to Berimbolo, to Back Control. At yesterday's 1130am BJJ class at The Ramp, Anthony Lange taught students how to off balance an opponent while controlling them from De La Riva Guard. Dependant on an opponent's reaction, Anthony then taught students one option being Berimbolo which in this instance, finished with a Back Control Position. These tricky looking and yet surprisingly effective techniques are being taught by Anthony this month... in accordance with Anthony's "theme" for the Month of February. 05.01.2022 A Martial Arts Tale Listen to the experts? Luckily for me I didn’t. Back in the 80’s there was one source of all martial art wisdom. A journal called Austral...ian Fighting Arts. There was no internet and no other magazines produced by Australians. What the experts said in this journal was gospel and all followed from there accordingly. There was only one person that differed, and he wrote about the Gracie’s and Machado’s. The art was a ground fighting art that no one had heard of. There was a singular voice that said BJJ was of value. He was heavily ridiculed for what they deemed a silly ground fighting concept. Proof of non-validity put forward was that he wore shorts, as no grand master at that time had ever worn shorts.This alone seemed ample evidence of their correct diagnoses. Regardless, in 1989 at a seminar run by Ricard Bradford in Wagga Wagga hosted the short wearing dude and two of the ground fighting brothers. I lined up for a match with a brown belt, which lasted 4 seconds. I quickly re-joined the line of 40 people to grapple again. This time I lasted twice as long. The brown belt was Renzo Gracie. The short wearing dude who hosted them was John Bernard Will. I returned to Sydney and followed the advice of AFA Australian Fighting Arts who said learning any grappling style would be as useful as BJJ. I learnt a traditional jiu jitsu style and also Larry Hartsel’s JKD. I still had to complete my research and ended up travelling to Gelong to train with John Will. It became quickly obvious that one weeks intensive training in BJJ gave greater improvements than in the other systems put together. In 1993 there happened to be two other pioneers both in Maitland whom I had the pleasure of training with Sean Kirkwood and John Simon. These guys were ahead of me on the BJJ path. This was the start of BJJ in NSW. I am glad I did my own research and I didn’t just listen to the experts!
