19.01.2022 The Winehouse, Langhorne Creek Gipsie Jack A grade match review. The A grade took on Mount Barker at Mount Barker with their hammering at the hands of the Kookaburras two years ago in the back of many Tiger minds. Daniel won the toss and Dan Kropp and Brodie O'Dea started like rockets scoring 75 off the first 9 overs. A mini collapse saw Kropp (31), O’Dea (42) Warren (0) and Jones (8) all in the sheds to see the slump to 4/94 (13). Daniel Cleggett was the main stay as th...e skipper played a beautiful knock to keep Mount Barker at bay. Jaspa and Jacob Tonkin hung around before David Mudge 27 (51) put on an important 51 run stand for the 8th wicket to guide us to 9/207 (45). Troy Blackwell and Darcy Paech started slowly before the latter removed the dangerous C Paterson caught behind for 28 (24). R Paterson followed not long after to have the Kookaburras struggling at 2/66 (23) due to some tight bowling from O’Dea 1/6 (7) and Ben Warren. Mount Barker never really got going after drinks but hung in there to conjure 9/150 (45) with Darcy Paech striking late with 4/40 (8). The Tigers now sit top with six wins from Six games and it was good to see the A2’s register their first win at home. LCCC 9/207 (45) Mt Barker 9/150 Daniel Cleggett was the Howlin' Gale Wines player of the match with a stoic 45 (68).

18.01.2022 Good Luck to Jayme Manfield and Riley Tonkin who will skipper the stallions this weekend in their GF.

15.01.2022 The A2’s have had a tough start to the season but on the weekend they put the Strathalbyn Stallions to the sword by six wickets at home. Jordon Whiting and Angas Smith (cousin of Chad Rothe) from Esperance CC and Milang CC respectively were welcomed and they seemed to be the tonic to lift the Tigers to a much needed win! Clem Miller started like a man possessed sending the first three Stallions packing, all for 0 on his way to 4/17. Jacob Brigandi removed the dangerous (and o...ld) Rory Lane for 13 and when Chris Hanley went for 25 Strath were 5/59. Soon after Jordon Whiting was introduced and took two wickets with Mat Cannizzaro and Tom Scott taking a wicket each. A superb fielding and bowling performance held Strath to 95. Jordon Whiting opened up and thought he was playing for the Perth Scorchers has he got stuck into the Strath bowlers punishing anything! Paul Newbery was the rock making a solid 36 before Jason Brigandi, in his 97th game steered the Tigers home with 19* with Angas Smith 3*. A great win for the A2’s and with Hahndorf this week and one spot ahead another win looms large! Bremerton Wines Player of the Match Clem Miller bowled well all day, attacking the batsmen while maintaining great control, picking up 4/17 and dominating the Strath batting line up. Well done Clem! Strath 10/95 (31) Clem Miller 4/17 (8) Jacob Brigandi 2/26 (7) Jordon Whiting 2/13 (3) Langhorne Creek 4/97 (20.4) Paul Newbery 36 Jordon Whiting 25 Jason Brigandi 19*

10.01.2022 C grade review The C grade were back in action for Round 11 after the Christmas/New year break tasked with the challenge of taking on the Nairne Razorbacks at our home away from home EFS oval in warm sunny conditions. Tim Tonkin was a welcomed addition into the side for his 1st game of the season to strengthen the Tonkin quartet in the Cs. Winning the toss and bating 1st the were well restricted early with a booming 6 from Shane Nurse being the only highlight before he w...as dismissed for 8 by a great one handed catch in the covers with the score on 13. Young Jagga Kotz joined Jayden Michelmore at the crease and the pair dug in being made to work hard for runs up to drinks taking the score to 1-46 off 18 overs. The grind continued after drinks as 1s and 2s were ran hard with the occasional boundary found Michelmore departed caught for 42 at 2-78 in the 25th. Billy Tonkin came out and showed his class scoring a dashing 28 along with Jagga Kotz compiling a beautiful 35 to help anchor the innings the pair steered us to 7-131 off 35 overs with a flurry of last over wickets with everyone swinging for the fences. Ant Tonkin finishing off the innings 9 not out. Heading out to field a bit of a breeze picked up to make conditions a bit more comfortable which our bowlers certainly enjoyed. Marty Rigby and Jagga Kotz started brightly with the ball keeping things tight as Rigby broke through clipping the stumps with a deflection off the pads with Nairne 1-29 off 10 overs. Young Cade Tonkin was introduced into the attack with immediate effect taking 2 wickets in his first over both being clean bowled and as the left arm swingers of Tim Tonkin took the ball before drinks he also snagged 2 quick wickets to shake Nairne at drinks 5-65. The pressure mounted on the Razorbacks after drinks with a sharp run out courtesy of Jagga Kotz and continued tight bowling from Tim Tonkin (3-12 off 7, an outstanding spell of bowling) and Michael Scholz (0-26 off 7) who should have had at least 1 wicket but the skipper dropped the catch , the game was in the balance with Nairne requiring 30 runs off the final 5 overs with 3 wickets in hand. Openers Kotz and Rigby had a few overs left up their sleeves and both rose to the occasion grabbing the final 3 wickets to bowl Nairne out for 109 in the 33rd over with Shane Nurse taking the crucial catch of Rupcic who threatened all day making 52 for the Razorbacks. The Bleasdale Winery player of the match: Jagga Kotz with 35 runs, 6 overs 1-11, 1 catch and 1 run out. Young Jagga came in for his 2nd game of the season and stood up strong all day for the with bat, ball and in the field. 05.01.2022 The A Grade hosted Mount Barker Cricket Club at Tiger Park today with out Daniel Cleggett, Matt Tonkin, Tom Whittlesea, James Shea and Adam Clements from last week which was going to test our depth. Jordon Whiting (A2's & Esperance) and Martin Rigby (C Grade - gun fielder!) came into the team for their debut. Troy Blackwell won the toss in his second game in charge this year and elected to bat after a shower of rain and a slow pitch. Dan Kropp started well, with Brodie O'...Dea struggling early, before the former was given LBW. Jordon Whiting came and went for 5 in his debut game to have the Tigers in trouble at 2/28 (10) The Tigers moved to 2/87 (23) at drinks with Brodie O'Dea dropped twice (once off a no ball) before setting about taking the Kookaburras apart. Ben Warren was subdued early but worked his way into it after some tight bowling from the Mt Barker attack. Brodie brought up his second century in two years for the Tigers on a very dicey pitch early. Ben Warren rampaged late hitting his century with three balls to go to finish on 108* for his 14th A Grade ton. An unbeaten 223* run partnership was our 4th highest A Grade partnership of all time and a great display of batting from two of our key batsmen heading into finals. The Tigers started well with the ball with Blackwell and Darcy Paech striking early to have the Kookaburras 2/15. Regular wickets fell throughout the innings to see Mount Barker finish on 9/130 (45) as Troy rotated the bowlers. Jordon Whiting bowled very well to take his first A Grade wicket along with young gun Riley Tonkin. Troy Blackwell slipped back into top spot of the wicket takers of the association to finish with a fast spell of bowling with 3/21 (9). Brodie O’Dea was the Howlin' Gale Wines player of the match with 102* and one wicket. L/Creek 2/251 (45) Ben Warren 108* Brodie O’Dea 102* Mt Barker 9/130 (45) Troy Blackwell 3/21 (9) Mathew Cannizzaro 2/11 (7)

04.01.2022 A tough day for the A Grade at Strathalbyn being completely outplayed after drinks of the first innings losing our first game of the year. We lost the toss and bowled in very warm conditions with the bowlers bowling well on a slow deck and despite some very sloppy fielding and dropped catches, Strath were 2/66 (23) at drinks. We completely lost our way as Matt Harris, the former Ashbourne Bull, in particular smashed the bowlers to all parts with 77 (55) with support from Mar...k Abbott who was dropped on 8 early on. Six + dropped catches let Strath run riot hitting 134 off the last 13 overs to forge a very good score of 5/230 (45) Kropp and Russo started well to post 63 (16) before Russo was caught behind off the slow bowler Reekie. O'Dea and Warren followed not long after out to a rank full toss and leg side catch to the keeper to sum up an ordinary day for the Tigers. The middle order did not fire but Mudge, Shea and Blackwell made 25, 31 and 28* to post a respectable 10/184 (42.5). Strath 5/230 (45) Blackwell 2/46 O'Dea 2/45 Langhorne Creek 10/184 Dan Kropp 34 (59) Chris Russo 32 (49) James Shea 31 (38) Troy Blackwell 28* (21) In better news, the A2 and C Grade both had good starts to their post xmas games with wins! Congratulations to Troy Blackwell on his 50th game at Tigerland!

02.01.2022 A2 Match Report Round 6 This week the A2’s hosted top of the table Ashbourne, still searching for their first win of the season. The Creek side welcomed the in-form C grade duo of Jayden Michelmore and Shane Nurse, and looked a well-balanced side on paper. The day started in an all too familiar way, again losing the toss. Ashbourne chose to bat first, sending the Creek side into the field. The Tigers opening combination of Jacob Brigandi and Clem Miller started well, bowlin...Continue reading
