24.01.2022 Thank you all for your continued support to stop the spread of Covid 19. As you may be aware, the Premier has this morning announced new directions restricting indoor and outdoor gatherings to no more than two people except for members of your immediate household and for work or education. Playgrounds, skate parks and outdoor gyms will also close.... These Stage 3 restrictions will come into effect from 11:59pm tonight and will be reviewed after four weeks. If people breach these directions, they face on-the-spot fines of $1,652 for individuals and $9,913 for businesses. Larger fines can also be issued through the courts. The message from the Premier is clear there are only four reasons to leave your home: food and supplies, medical care, exercise, and work or education. Based on this message, people should only be using reserves and facilities for exercise, work or education in groups of no more than two and complying with social distancing rules.

09.01.2022 Council and Phillip Island Nature Parks have made the decision to close all Bass Coast beaches to the public over the Easter break. This follows strong advice ...from Bass Coast Health that with additional people in the community over Easter, the local health network would be unable to respond to the impacts of a COVID-19 outbreak in our community. The closure will impact every beach in the Shire from 11.59pm Thursday, 9 April until 11.59pm Monday, 13 April. During these times, there will be no access for anyone, to any beach, under any circumstance. This includes exercising on the beach running, surfing, walking and swimming. See more
