22.01.2022 Neon Bar When looking at the furniture floor plan in the #MainBeachResidence, this space was perfect for a designated bar area. Working within the constraints of the existing walls it was important that bar made its own statement which was achieved with the material choice. The lime green inspiration was taken from the adjacent living room rug & upholstery and functionally the colour worked in both the Perspex and Corian applications. By backlighting the Perspex and runnin...g strip lighting under the Corian shelves the bar glows like a beacon in the night. The Perspex high bar in the foreground was a custom piece to match in with the bar. The transparent furniture was chosen for its materiality, but it also allows the focus to remain on the bar wall, allowing it to be the feature of the space. 20.01.2022 The famous Martinique wallpaper in the foyer really sets the scene for the rest of the #MainBeachResidence penthouse. The catwalk-like hallway needed a dramatic presence and the iconic Beverly Hills Martinique wallpaper came to mind straight away. Pairing it with the statement yellow door added another punch that solidified the Palm Springs vibe. ... To ensure these two elements were the focal points we paired them with crisp white walls and a neutral herringbone floor that acted as visual relief while still providing interest to the dynamic space. #langloisdesign Read more here: https://bit.ly/3kCSIQn

18.01.2022 Creatively, the most challenging part of the #NewFarmApartment redesign was bringing together a cohesive design whilst considering and implementing both design aesthetics. Practically, it was important to have a tile as the main floor finish, which meant overcoming all the regulations set by the Body corporate. This meant engaging with an acoustic engineer & installing acoustic underlay. Both Langlois Design and the clients were happy with transitional space blending the ed...giness and essence of industrial/urban design with the warmth and softness of a traditional Hamptons modern feel. 16.01.2022 Interior decoration can sometimes be looked at as the cherry on top of a new build or renovation project. It is, however, an equally important factor. Our Creative Director, Danielle Langlois, is known for her work that brings out her client’s personalities in some colourful and extraordinary ways, and in this interview, we look into both her processes and the undeniable importance of interior decoration. Let's go: https://bit.ly/3a3IVPR

15.01.2022 "I like to think of Interior design as the practice of creating an interior environment that addresses the needs of the people using that space, whilst also corresponding to the architecture." In this blog, we chat with Danielle Langlois about the four stages and how she brings spaces to life and emotions alive in each of her projects. Learn more here: https://bit.ly/3a4bhJC

07.01.2022 The kitchen booth area was the biggest structural change to the #NewFarmApartment, as the staircase was previously floating. To utilise the space efficiently, we closed it in and created a built-in seating booth which added architectural interested and saved space win, win! We covered the bench seat cushions in a more traditional ticking stripe fabric and integrated a chunky timber table and modern chairs to fuse the styles again. 03.01.2022 Hamptons & Modern Industrial: two opposite designs aesthetics or the perfect recipe for a unique space? The #NewFarmApartment is now described as ‘cool, calm and collected’, however, the journey started with two very different visions. Our principal Danielle Langlois said, "It was definitely a mixing pot of ideas in the initial stages of the design." ... The couple had different aesthetics so we entered into the design process knowing that in certain areas one style would take the lead over the other. We agreed the colour palette would provide the consistency and common thread throughout the apartment even though the materials and styles would switch up.
