Grow Cook Share - participants can use their own herbs and greens grown in the Backyard Garden as part of the program. Everyone is involved in the cooking and planning of meals. 10.01.2022 Hi everyone, My sister in law Cathy, is again collecting brand new pyjamas for children coming into foster care over the Christmas/new year period. She donates them straight to Anglicare. Unfortunately the need is always heightened at this time of year as so many children of all ages requiring emergency placements, nearly always arrive with nothing but the clothes on their backs. To have a pair of pyjamas that are brand new, just for them, provides a little comfort. ... Last year, because of the wonderful and generous community, we were able to take over 700 pairs of pyjamas to Anglicare! 10.01.2022 Langwarrin Community Centre Ladies make Fiddle Mats for Peninsula Health patients! Wendy Jones and Barbara Craig of the Langwarrin Community Centre quilting group, have decided to put their sewing and quilting skills to good use, making Fiddle Mats for the patients of Peninsula Health. You may ask yourself, what is a Fiddle Mat? A Fiddle Mat is used to give comfort and to keep hands busy, for dementia patients and upper limb stroke patients. ... The mats are bright, soft and have different textures of material and other embellishments that are sewn into place to be felt and fiddled with. Fiddle Mats are given to an individual patient to keep, along with the care instructions for each mat. Both Wendy and Barbara wanted to be able to give something back to their communities and have enjoyed using their imaginations to come up with some great designs, that will give hours of pleasure to the lucky recipients.
