25.01.2022 For those who are new or returning after a couple of seasons off this is the uniform you will need to play this summer. It is reversible with the Lara Giants blue one side & white the other side & the Austin Lara logo on the back along with dark shorts. If you are playing this summer & don't have this uniform you can purchase it this Saturday at St Anthony's between 11am and 2pm by booking a spot using on Try Booking - https://www.trybooking.com/BNBKI New uniform is $85 comp...lete for shorts & singlet. We will also have limited merch available on Saturday. Payment by cash or card welcome. If you would like to order a replacement uniform in a bigger size & keep your current number we can put in an order for you with a 4-6 week turn around. Email us for more details. 24.01.2022 The Lara Hotel Giants Championship men got off to a good start last night with a 24 point win over Surfcoasters. The scoring was led by Jackson Bentley with 27 & Joel McFall with 21 with solid contributions all round including the couple of u23 boys filling in for the team. Great start team

Lara Giants U16-2 Boys won 49-12over try boys, U14-4 Lara Lightning won 63-34 over Sharks, U16-4 Lara Thunder drew with Wildcats and the U16-5 game Lara v Lara was a 1 point thriller

18.01.2022 The Lara Giant Basketball Club wish to advise their Annual General Meeting which was scheduled for October is being postponed until further notice. As per covid guidelines we will be applying for the extension to enable us to hopefully meet face to face. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our existing committee & ask our members to stronger consider helping us move forward as a basketball club. 17.01.2022 On Wednesday we caught up with Kylie & discussed our need for a stadium for our club & region. Recently we have made some great progress & have been given crown land at Beckley Park which is the first major step. We would like to thank the Committee of management at Beckley Park for their support for our vision. 13.01.2022 First game together for our u16 champ boys tonight. While up most of the game the bobcats hit a 3 pointer with a couple seconds left to tie it up. The final result was a draw. Plenty of positives there for the team and will be better for the run

The kids love to warm up with a game of octopus before some basic basketball things are introduced via more fun games. 07.01.2022 Thank you to John Eren MP for your support to our club as part of the Community Sport Sector Covid-19 Survival Package. The club was lucky enough to receive some assistance earlier in the year & also an additional amount this month.

07.01.2022 While it is not the news we had hoped for, Basketball for both under and over 18s is now able to be played outside. Make sure to read the rules and follow them closely as we inch towards Basketball being back in our stadiums!

06.01.2022 Further to recent posts on our efforts to have a stadium built we thought we would provide some specific details. The hardest part we found to getting started was access to land. Thankfully the Committee of Management for Beckley Park have offered to lease us a parcel of land at Beckley Park. The picture attached shows the space available to the club. The space is big enough for a 4 court stadium with room to add more courts if needed. Beckley Park are looking to undertake... some of their own works including a carpark creating the area into a substantial sporting precinct. Our next step is funding. This is a tiered application process. Our application for the first tier is underway and due shortly. This involves concept and site planning, schematic design and development. The following tiers then depend on the amount of funding achievable this will require support form local, state and federal governments and privately backed supporters. These tiers involve a town planning submission, the tender process and ultimately construction. Having our own courts will allow our club and its members a training facility. Our courts would be built to tournament standard so we can hold games and clinics and be able to run all our programs like Little Giants, All Abilities Mighty Giants we have even looked into ball skills for kindergarten aged players and have sourced information on running a wheelchair basketball program. We would also open the courts for casual shooting and extra training. The possibilities for this stadium are endless and this is just considering our club we can offer this space to other basketball clubs or clubs from sports outside of basketball. We would have a café, a uniform and merchandise store, meeting rooms and medically certified first aid and sensory rooms.
