20.01.2022 Hot off the presses! The Lara Heritage & Historical Inc’s latest book ‘Stories of Settlers at Lara’ is now available for purchase from the Lara Museum for $35. This would make the perfect Christmas gift for the history lover in your family. ... The museum is open today 11am to 4pm.
19.01.2022 Less than 2 weeks until our next event with tickets still remaining. Please note, this is a concert event with the seating in an auditorium style. We will not be allowing food or alcohol to be brought into the venue. Tea & coffee will be available during the interval. Tickets are also available on the night if you decide to come last minute.
15.01.2022 Something to keep our members busy whilst isolating. My personal favourite is the Australian Electoral Rolls. They allow you to find where ancestors lived as well as who may have lived with them. I discovered that a great-grandmother lived with grandparents later in life. Feel free to share other tips with each other.
13.01.2022 Temporary Closure of Lara Museum We here at Lara Heritage & Historical Inc. consider the health and wellbeing of our members, volunteers and visitors as one of our main priorities. Due to the evolving situation with regards to COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we have decided to close the Lara Museum to all members of the public, including group bookings, for the foreseeable future.... We will continue to monitor the situation and guidance from health authorities and re-evaluate this decision on a regular basis.
10.01.2022 If any of our members have a connection to the construction of the Great Ocean Road please contact the relevant people and share your story.
09.01.2022 The BBQ is back at Lara Quality Meats today and we are first team off the rack. Thank-you to Andrew and the team for providing this for the community.
05.01.2022 Holiday Opening Hours: The Lara Museum will be closed during the holiday period from Sunday 22 December 2019 until Wednesday 1st January 2020. We will be open again on Sunday 5 January 2020.... We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year. Don’t forget if you need a last minute Christmas gift our new book ‘Stories of Settlers to Lara’ can be purchased for $35 from the museum.
03.01.2022 **CLOSED** Unfortunately the Lara Museum remains closed. The committee of the Lara Heritage & Historical Inc. continue to consider all new information released by the government and other health organisations as well as consulting historical bodies in making this decision.... The overarching concern for us is the safety of our volunteers, members and visitors. Whilst the museum remains closed, our dedicated volunteers are still available and ready to assist anyone with any queries or research projects being undertaken. Please send us a message and we will allocate your query to the person with the best knowledge to assist. #staysafestayhome #allinthistogether2020
