25.01.2022 Serpentine Gorge Food Drop: Approx half of all our customers in 2020 season used the new food drop at Serp Gorge ( the blue sea container in the pic). A lot more work needs to be done at this food drop but overall it served its temporary purpose for the season. The top three downsides for a number of hikers (but relevant to everyone yet to use it this year or in 2021 onwards) were: 1. Finding it ( yep its blue and sticks out, but it was tricky to find for some); 2. Opening it (many haven't opened a sea container before, it can be tricky) and 3. Remembering that when it warms up, the container becomes an oven, which it was for most of September. #larapintatrail #larapintatrailtreksupport

09.01.2022 Brinkley Bluff Fly Over Part 1: A short afternoon video flyover from Section 3/4 Trailhead (Birthday Waterhole) toward the vicinity of Mintbush Springs on Section 4. The trail is to the left of the video. The magnificent peak to the front is Brinkley Bluff. Click resolution to 1080 for sharp footage. #larapintatrail #larapintatrailtreksupport

09.01.2022 An update about new rules for food drop containers. LTTS customers don't need to worry about this as we have never supported BYO containers anyway and always provided containers and collected them from the trail ( and any rubbish our customers needed to dispose of).

07.01.2022 Larapinta Trail is closing until further notice from 5pm Thursday 26 March 2020. Check out post below for links.

07.01.2022 Rain and drizzle throughout last night and today, saturating the landscape and the Larapinta Trail. Fantastic early indicators point to a great 2020 season. The pano video shown here is from a few weeks back when we also had a good soak. Video: Axis, LTTS Drone #larapintatrail #larapintatrailtreksupport

05.01.2022 Yesterday afternoon we had a huge dark ochre-coloured dust storm rip through the West Macs and Alice Springs, then after about an hour or so, depending on where you were, it passed and was replaced by some amazing rain and drizzle straight after. The drizzly and rainy weather continued this morning and later this arvo. Great hiking weather.

05.01.2022 The New Ellery Creek Trailhead Shelter. The shelter will be ready for the 2020 season. Now hikers can avoid the throngs of tourists at Ellery Creek Big Hole and enjoy the peace and quiet amongst the Heavitree Ranges and the distant views of the Chewings Range. This is a great addition to the LT. Big thanks to Parks and Wildlife NT.
