Day and there has never been a more important time for mental health to be in the spotlight. 2020 has bought with it many challenges which have impacted everyone in different ways. Today is a great reminder to check in on the people around you and ask how they are really feeling. Having a conversation might help you too! ‘THERE'S MORE TO SAY AFTER R U OK?' 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone and circumstances have made it even more important for us... all to stay connected and, for those who are able, be willing to support those around us. You don’t have to be an expert to keep the conversation going when someone says they’re not OK. By knowing what to say you can help someone feel supported and access appropriate help long before they’re in crisis, which can make a really positive difference to their life. 20.01.2022 This afternoon Premier Dan Andrews announced a state wide Stage 4 lockdown from midnight tonight. In response, the Club and its facilities will be closed from 10pm tonight (to close up and allow the staff to get home on time). We will re-open 9am Thursday 18th February OR unless the restrictions are extended. Let's continue to work together as a community to protect our friends, families and ourselves. Please stay home unless following one of the four restriction exemptions.

18.01.2022 Well this week’s Trivia started off with a round on FLAG recognition which was a bit of a head scratcher for all teams but from that round on it was onwards and upwards for everyone. Our weekly Trivia Crown came down to 2 teams facing off in a tiebreaker question. I Like your cut G won out and were crowned this week’s winners. 2nd Place was Let’s Get Quizzical (who were going for back to back wins) with The Wiggles only one point behind in 3rd place.... Thanks so much to everyone who attended and see you all next week.

We are reaching out to you for assistance to help us acknowledge the great achievements and contributions of the people of Lara. So if you know someone in our community doing great things we want to hear about it.... There is 3 categories:- Lara Junior COTY - up to 13 years of age Lara Young COTY - 13 - 21 years old Lara COTY - over 21 years old The Lara Citizens of the Year will be individuals who have made a significant contribution to the Community, displayed through any of the following: Exceptional personal dedication to volunteering. Displayed remarkable help, kindness or assistance to others or groups of others. Bravery or exceptional courage. Humanitarian achievements. Achievements in the fields of environment, nature or wildlife. A trophy is awarded as well as $250 for Junior and Young COTY and $500 to the Lara COTY. This award money can be donated to a charity of the recipients choosing or can be used to further their interests. 14.01.2022 Let’s all help get them over the line And help protect Lara lives and Lara property! The volunteer members of the Lara Fire Brigade are currently fundraising to purchase an Ultra-Light Tanker. Being manoeuvrable and able to access areas that are inaccessible to the larger tankers, this tanker has an estimated cost of $148,500 and will be particularly valuable to the Lara area. They are on the way to hitting our target! This is a fantastic result in the current circumstances. ...They still have $46,000 left to go, we need everyone to spread the word and donate if they can so we can make Lara a safer place to live. 13.01.2022 9 Teams competed last night for LSC Trivia Crown glory with Let’s Get Quizzical returning to 1st place and easily taking out the win. 2nd place came down to a tie breaker question between The Wiggles versus Poor Taste. Poor Taste was closest to the answer so they took out 2nd place with The Wiggles in 3rd . Thank you very much to all the teams that participated and we look forward to seeing you all again next week.

04.01.2022 We're proud to host Two-up from 2pm on ANZAC Day with support from the Lara RSL. Plenty of opportunities to donate to the ANZAC Appeal helping servicemen, women... and their families. Come down and honour the diggers in a game Aussie's have been playing for over 100 years! Also on ANZAC Day at the Club; $3.50 pots ALL day, live AFL matches on our Fox Sports tv's, with women's footy all day as well. Rally around our communities Club on Sunday 25th April. 02.01.2022 Last week I like your cut G returned to 1st Place at our weekly Trivia night. Followed very closely in 2nd place by The Wiggles and with only 2 players Ruby Tuesdays came in 3rd place. Well played by everyone who attended and tested out their knowledge. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow night for another fun filled night of Trivia.
