20.01.2022 The tree’s up and they’re playing Jingle Bells on repeat at the mall so it must be Christmas. Have you noticed that a lot of the food associated with Christmas is highly processed and pretty devoid of nutrients? It doesn’t have to be though. A bit of imagination and planning can yield some delicious, festive treats that won’t undo all your good work.... Keeping it fresh is the key here and if you’re time poor stick with colourful salads with pomegranates, olives, tomatoes and rocket or some balsamic glazed roast vegetables. Enjoy a glass of bubbles to celebrate but explore non alcoholic options like a mineral water with lemon and mint or ginger. Nourishing your body will really set you up for a Merry Christmas
20.01.2022 Thinking about your New Year's Resolutions?
17.01.2022 This photo reminds me that we all go through things differently, and what makes you feel stressed or anxious might not be a problem for someone else. The flip side of this is that the things that you breeze through in life might actually feel really overwhelming and stressful for another person. I've got a hair trigger when it comes to anxiety. It takes very little for me to feel anxious and I constantly need to support myself with good diet, lifestyle and herbal medicine. What's your tolerance to stress and what do you do to keep yourself on track? I'd love to hear from you!
17.01.2022 This week I've had to remind myself of the activities that calm me and nourish my soul. It's easy to forget when you get stressed or anxious. We get stuck in our 'fight or flight' response and this stops us from thinking creatively. It can help if you create a list that you can refer to when you're feeling stressed. Here's one I came up with - I hope it helps you
16.01.2022 Does anyone else find themselves worrying about things they can't control? It's really draining and does nothing to change the outcome of the situation. So this reminder is for me today and I hope it is helpful for you too
11.01.2022 When I locked myself out of my apartment for the second time this week I decided it was time to admit I was feeling a bit stressed at the moment. Passionflower is one of my favourite herbs for de-stressing. It helps to increase production of your calming neurotransmitter GABA. It’s a really safe herb that can be taken as a liquid extract or even as a tea. Its quick acting so fantastic to have on hand for those times when you feel yourself becoming overwhelmed or having trouble sleeping. It’s a great one for children as well. Don’t wait til you’ve locked yourself out get some support today

07.01.2022 When you're anxious it's easy for negative self-talk to take over. Affirmations or mantras can help break the pattern and change your mindset.
06.01.2022 What's your experience with PMS? Why do some women cruise through their cycle with little inconvenience and some of us need pain relief and a hot water bottle? 05.01.2022 Christmas is coming people, ready or not!
03.01.2022 I can definitely relate to this some days.
02.01.2022 Chronic stress can have a really negative effect on your gut. Cortisol is our stress hormone that is produced when we are constantly in 'fight or flight'. It changes the types of bacteria that live in your gut and can make it 'leaky' by increasing its permeability. Chamomile is a herb that dates back to Roman times here it was used for stomach upsets. Fast forward to now and research confirms that its properties can calm and soothe the gut and importantly calm the stress response. You can incorporate Chamomile into your daily routine by having it as a tea - just remember to get the therapeutic effects of this wonderful herb you need to steep your tea for at least 5-10 minutes and make sure the volatile oils don't escape by covering your cup or keeping the lid on the teapot.
