10.01.2022 BOIL WATER ADVISORY NOTICE EXTENDED TO WONGALING BEACH AND SOUTH MISSION BEACH The Boil Water Alert advisory notice which was issued on Sunday 29 December 2019 for the communities of Tully town, Feluga, East Feluga, Bulgun, Silky Oak, Euramo, Merryburn, Carmoo, Hull Heads, Tully Heads, Jarra Creek area (Syndicate Road and Mullins Road) remains current and has been extended to include South Mission Beach and Wongaling Beach. Since Sunday when the boil water a...lert was issued for the Tully rural (Bulgun) and Tully (Boulder) water schemes, the South Mission Beach and Wongaling Beach communities have been supplied with water from our water storage, particularly the new reservoir at Wheatley’s Hill. Unfortunately, the water storage is now depleted requiring the communities of South Mission Beach and Wongaling Beach to be supplied from the Tully water scheme (Bulgun and Boulder) which is impacted by the boil water alert. Council is working with Queensland Health to remove the boil water requirement as quickly as possible. A program of flushing and testing has been initiated, but the alert cannot be lifted without approval from Queensland Health. Residents and businesses in the affected areas are advised to boil water for use in the following activities: Drinking Brushing teeth Washing or preparing food that is not going to be cooked Preparing baby formula Making ice Cassowary Coast Regional Council apologises for the inconvenience and will provide updates as they become available. Council asks that this advice be shared with neighbours and friends in the affected area. See more
