19.01.2022 LEARN THE PROCESS: La Salire sea salt is naturally produced with no additives, no anti-caking agent and no colouring or bleaching. The salt is harvested and made in Tam OShanter Bay, Tasmania; combining traditional hand harvesting with advanced methods utilising the technology available to produce the raw, vibrant white flakes.... Once filtered, the sea water is gently heated in a solar heated vacuum to a low temperature. Gradually, the water releases steam, and we are left with a very salty brine. After the concentration of the salt in the water is high enough, we release it into shallow crystallisation tanks to rest, allowing the sea salt crystals to form. Once the crystals have formed, we harvest La Salire sea salt by hand and then place it on trays to dry. When dry, La Salire sea salt is ready to be added to any gourmet food to enhance its flavour.

14.01.2022 Ever wonder why the sea is salty? Well, youre in luck! Because we have the answer for you! The sea is salty due to rainwater dissolving natural salts located within rocks, this salt is then transported via water sources to the sea, making it salty. ... In more Scientific Terms: During the formation of raindrops, they will absorb nearby Carbon Dioxide (CO2) from the air creating Carbonic Acid (H2CO3) when combined with water giving the rain a slightly acidic nature. This is why the rainwater has the ability to breakdown salts in rocks and carry them away to the sea via streams and rivers! It is estimated that rivers will transport 4 billion tones of salt every year!
