24.01.2022 Here at Laser Vein Co, we are still open and seeing patients. We pride ourselves on the health, safety and well being of all our patients and team members. Cleanliness and hygiene has always been our top priority and with the current situation with regard to recent concerns around the Coronavirus (COVID-19) it is even more important.... Mr Milne and staff will continue to closely monitor the ongoing situation and we will be following the advice of the Australian Government Department of Health. Our team already have very strict hygiene protocols in place. However, we wanted to let you know that we are taking extra precautions during this time. Here is how we are taking extra precautions at Laser Vein Co: We have increased the number of hand sanitisers available in the clinic. They are located in at reception, bathrooms, all consultation and treatment rooms. Frequent and thorough cleaning of all high touch areas with high grade disinfectant and sanitiser, including reception surfaces, door handles, bathrooms and treatment areas. High visibility signage to advise patients to sanitise their hands. We continually disinfect and wipe down all treatment surfaces after each patient interaction. Availability and use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment during all appointments What can you do to help? If you are feeling unwell, experiencing respiratory and/or flu like symptoms (including fever and cough), we ask that you call us and reschedule your appointment, and more importantly seek immediate medical attention. In the instance that you have recently traveled and returned from impacted areas (including high incident countries such as China, Italy, South Korea, Iran, France, Spain, Germany and the United States) we ask that you call us and reschedule your appointment. Please monitor your health and be vigilant of any signs that you may not be well such as a cough, sore throat and/or fever. If you start to feel unwell seek immediate medical attention. 16.01.2022 Laser Ablation is used to treat larger varicose veins on a more permanent basis. Heat from a specifically designed Laser destroys the defective veins. This is as effective as surgery in achieving elimination of varices. This technology has been used over the last 10 years with increasing safety and effectiveness. The third generation Laser devices now offer much less discomfort than surgery. This new technology allows for a greater proportion of people with varicose veins to... be treated by non surgical means with no hospital stay, a shorter period of discomfort and an earlier return to normal activity. Laser technology is not as suitable as other techniques for recurrent varicose veins. Suitability for Laser treatment is determined by ultrasound scanning.

03.01.2022 Compression stockings for Varicose Veins Facts: Elastic stockings can assist by providing external support (compression) to the limb. Unfortunately the stockings are sometimes unpleasant to wear because of tightness and warmth. They are only useful for alleviation of symptoms; they do not prevent varicose veins. The use of elastic stockings may, in fact, make the leg feel less comfortable and therefore is of no benefit to the patient. The exception is when stockings are being used to treat complications such as ulcers when acceptance of discomfort is necessary.

03.01.2022 Sclerotherapy uses an irritating solution called a sclerosant, which is injected directly into a vein or lymph vessel. The solution irritates the vessel, causing it to swell. This swelling cuts off the flow of blood or lymphatic fluid and the vessel shrinks there fore eliminating the appearance of the spider vein!
