As the lash artist you have creative control, and can use whichever glue you prefer to acheive your desired results. So... what does that mean for the final look of your set? When using clear adhesive, the colors will stay vibrant all the way down to the base, creating a seamless look and flawless finish. On the other hand, glue coverage is more easily detected when using black adh...esive, and creates a multi-dimensional look towards the base of the lashes. 24.01.2022 LET'S TALK LASH LAYERS... Achieving a perfect top line or perfecting a Hollywood hybrid look there are so many things to think about! Most clients have more than 1 layer of lashes - sometimes up to 4. You will need to adjust the lengths, and even curls, for each layerto perfect a desired result. The easiest way to accomplish a more perfect top line is to ALWAYS apply shorter lashes on the top layer, and longer lengths on the lower lashes. For example if the main length in... one area is 12, the lower & middle layers need to be 12, and 11 on the top lashes. This is because the 1mm - 1.5mm difference in height from the bottom layer to the top layer will effect the perfect top line of the lash map. If you have more than 3 layers of lashes, or wide spread layers, you could, for example, use D curls on the 2 lower layers and, and C+ curl on the 2 top layers. Another tip that helps with this effect is to attach each lash in a specific way for each layer: Top lashes should have extensions placed from underneath, middle layers apply to the side, and bottom layers apply to the top of the lash. Perfect top lines are hard to achieve, but these tips can help you the most when looking to achieve a perfect top line Very similar with Hollywood hybrid, if you attach your lash peaks or spikes to the bottom layer & only go 2mm longer then the rest of your map the peaks will be hardly visible. If we take in to consideration the lash layers we may want to attach our spikes or peaks to the top layer & have them 2-3mm longer than the lashes used for this part of your map. Let me know if this helps to understand how these layers can effect your completed lash map, We suggest booking extra time for clients who want a very specific look as this will take longer to think about planing & working through the layers if you are not currently planing for layers with your mapping. 22.01.2022 LEARNING TIME! With @tress.lashboxla Layers are one of the things that I didn't really realize I was working with for a long time. I wanted to know how lash sets could come out with that perfect top-line, and how on earth they knew what to do to make it happen. Turns out, there was a big difference between what I was doing, and what lash masters were doing. I was mapping, sure, but didn't know the specifics after that. As you are looking at the lash line, the lashe...s closest to the waterline are the bottom layer lashes - the Pink map here. The lashes closest to the eyebrow are the top - the teal map. Inner corners can be tricky because they sometimes have layers, sometimes don't, and don't always follow the rules. This is my Basic inner corner method when working with Mega Volume. On average, the inner corners can be 8's, and then I start working in layers after that. The middle and bottom layers would be the length I have mapped out on my foam tape, and then I transition to having my top layer of lashes be 2mm shorter than the rest of the map. For example, if you have a section of 11mm. This means the lower layer lashes will have 11mm on them, the middle layer lashes have 10mm or 11mm, and upper layer lashes have 9mm. That way they will reach the same point at the tips due to the distance between them where they naturally grow. *super consistent placement is vital here! Working with layers takes PRACTICE, intuition, observation, and most importantly it needs to FEEL right. If you place a lash that seems way out of place or alignment, check it out! Use your mirror, brush the lashline out, and see where the lashes lay. Whether you are applying the your classic or volume fan on the top, side, or bottom, its imperative to interlock the base of the fan to the natural lash and most importantly, take your time when doing so! Often times we place fans from the top view and although we may think were attaching it correctly, it can possibly just attach at the tip of the base! Try tilting your ...head to the side to see the base completely attach itself to the natural lash. Another tip would be to examine the angle of your tweezer when youre applying the lashes. Is it too tilted back or forward? The more surface area that is attached to the natural lash, the better the retention! On the contrary, if fans are placed following the direction of the natural lashes, those fans can pop right off! 01.01.2022 LETS TALK LASH LAYERS... Achieving a perfect top line or perfecting a Hollywood hybrid look there are so many things to think about! Most clients have more than 1 layer of lashes - sometimes up to 4. You will need to adjust the lengths, and even curls, for each layerto perfect a desired result. The easiest way to accomplish a more perfect top line is to ALWAYS apply shorter lashes on the top layer, and longer lengths on the lower lashes. For example if the main length in... one area is 12, the lower & middle layers need to be 12, and 11 on the top lashes. This is because the 1mm - 1.5mm difference in height from the bottom layer to the top layer will effect the perfect top line of the lash map. If you have more than 3 layers of lashes, or wide spread layers, you could, for example, use D curls on the 2 lower layers and, and C+ curl on the 2 top layers. Another tip that helps with this effect is to attach each lash in a specific way for each layer: Top lashes should have extensions placed from underneath, middle layers apply to the side, and bottom layers apply to the top of the lash. Perfect top lines are hard to achieve, but these tips can help you the most when looking to achieve a perfect top line Very similar with Hollywood hybrid, if you attach your lash peaks or spikes to the bottom layer & only go 2mm longer then the rest of your map the peaks will be hardly visible. If we take in to consideration the lash layers we may want to attach our spikes or peaks to the top layer & have them 2-3mm longer than the lashes used for this part of your map. Let me know if this helps to understand how these layers can effect your completed lash map, We suggest booking extra time for clients who want a very specific look as this will take longer to think about planing & working through the layers if you are not currently planing for layers with your mapping.
