04.01.2022 So damn true Shout out to the great application skills and to those struggling with retention reach out and ask for help, supporting each other leads to great things James be dropping jewels. Id like to include that it also has to do with if you know how to use your adhesive. When you know how to play with your toys, thats when gets fun. If you use the adhesive per its instructions, or even better, lets say you tried 10 different adhesives, and you still have poor... retention, who does that leave as the culprit? The adhesive + the right artist = gold. The adhesive + the wrong artist = whatever the opposite of gold is ALL adhesives work, but they wont all work for YOU. the number #1 question in my DMs is asking me to recommend an adhesive. I dont recommend adhesives bc I dont know anything about you as an artist or your work flow, and what works for me may not work for you. (See, you ask me 1 question, and I gotta ask you 5-10 in order to get you an answer, another reason I dont answer DMs, theyre time consuming - schedule a Mentorship Call girl!) Im a 1-2 sec glue girl, not 0.5, we dont always work well together. Im getting to know myself as an artist a lot more lately. I proudly post my retention bc there was a time when it was horrible, so bad it put me into a lash depression for about 6 months until I fixed it, by changing my environment, and then the pickup tweezer I was using bc it was fn with with my placement. I include the glue I use on my retention stories bc the first thing yall do is message me asking what I used... 03.01.2022 Struggling with Retention? One of the (many) biggest frustrations for a lash tech! There is so much to consider when discussing this, we offer a 1on1 worksho...p to help troubleshoot this, Perth Location. Check the humidity in your room is not too high or too low Do you prime the lashes? If so, NOT pressing the primer into the eye pad Do you have a small bead of adhesive on the end of the extension? We need that small bead to then work the extension onto the natural lash for great bonding. Are your clients losing mostly from one eye? Do you work from one side of the head - and is it the OTHER side that is shedding quickest? Ive seen tis myself in my early days with staff.. she was right handed and always had clients losing the left eye (Hi J if you're reading this ;) if YES this sounds like you... then you will need a slightly bigger drop of glue when working on the other side/eye .. as it travels further through the air to get to the other eye - it starts to dry in the air, so once you attach it to the NL it wont have much staying power... if you have a bigger drop of glue, slightly tap it on the top of the eye pad - this removes any 'film' developing, and reveals the fresher glue underneath to attach to the NL... does this make sense?
