18.01.2022 Sometimes, the trickiest part of your lash creation is getting the base right, and getting your pads on in the right spot - especially if youre working with deep set eyes or if youre a beginner. Hot tip?! If youve got a client with thick or oily bottom lashes, use micro tape to tape the bottom lashes down first, then place the pad on top. This way, the pad wont slide up into the eyes during the treatment. Its important to select the right tools and invest your money wisely - having the right tools will allow you to have a solid grasp on extensions, will allow you to isolate properly and will mean your technique is better from the start. Some of us, many moons ago, originally started doing lash extensions using needle nose and EYEBROW TWEEZERS. Ha! How things have... changed, and there are so many great tweezer options these days to allow faster, more precise and steady application and I would encourage you to try a few to find what suits you best. Pictured here are volume tweezers, though for some people they work well across volume and classic application as they give a great grip. When you start doing lashes properly, some tools are necessities. You may assume some are not necessary to do extensions, but they are important to keep your work areas clean and protect yourself from long exposure to fumes. 08.01.2022 It seems counterintuitive, but cleaning lashes every few days is proven to help with retention. If your lashes are attached properly, cleaning them wont case any more fall-out than your natural shedding process. You (and your clients) should be using a lash cleanser every 2-3 days to keep them clean and bacteria free. Especially if youre wearing lots of make up, if youve got naturally oily skin or if youre using any kind of lash-growth serum as this will all collect in th...e base of your lashes and it makes a nice little breeding ground for all kinds of microscopic organisms - the kind you dont want crawling around your lashes. Make sure your clients understand the importance of clean lashes, and how it can play a part in retention.
