25.01.2022 Bit of Saturday morning maintenance before another solid day harvesting



24.01.2022 Spreading and spraying has been all go this week. The whole program at the Cranbrook farm is getting spread with a nice hit of NK31 to get the crops pumping along. The Bonito canola at Gnowangerup has had a select/flexi-n spray and the lupins have had a select spray. The GM canola at Cranbrook is getting a second roundup spray and some insecticide after which we can shut the gate for a while!

24.01.2022 The headers have been rolling for a week now and are currently working in Cranbrook on the ‘Brick House’ farm harvesting canola and barley. This was some of the action from the weekend

22.01.2022 It’s been a fairly slow and steady start to harvest this year with the weather but we are starting to get a bit of a roll on now. So far we’ve taken off 700ha’s of canola and 550ha’s of barley at Gnowangerup with some better than expected yields. Into the GM canola at Cranbrook for a few days now



21.01.2022 Boomspray operator/farmhand Lassogowrie farming are looking to add a casual member to our team for the next 6 months leading up to and including seeding. We are looking to employ someone on a casual basis with a full time long term roll on offer for the right person. Ideally starting mid February through to at least July. ... The job will include a wide range of tasks in all aspects of a mixed farming enterprise but will be mainly focused on the broad acre cropping side of things in Cranbrook and Gnowangerup. You will be required to operate and maintain a wide range of modern machinery associated with broad acre cropping predominately Spraying and Seeding. 20.01.2022 The seeders are out and the fertilizer is in, seeding 2020 is upon us! One of the seeders has been going seeding pastures at Cranbrook while the final setup on the new 60ft equalizer are being done ready to make a start in Gnowangerup on Monday! Let the fun begin

19.01.2022 8mm of rain overnight at Karingal has got the canola looking fresh!



19.01.2022 After receiving upto 70mm of rain on parts of the Cranbrook farm over the last few weeks there has been a nice germination! As nice as it is to see the paddocks green the boom sprays are out spraying all of the cropping paddocks for an early weed kill and to conserve as much moisture as possible in preparation for seeding 2020!

17.01.2022 Lots of dry dams around the place at the moment so time to make the most of the opportunity to clean them out. We’ve got a contractor in with a digger going hard cleaning a large number of dams across most properties and taking a huge amount of mud out of some. While our grader has been very busy tidying up drains and catchments ready for some serious rain. Bring on a wet 2020

15.01.2022 There’s been some busy scenes at the field bins lately with the 2 harvesters taking off around 75-80 ton an hour between them in the wheat! The task of delivering it all to the local CBH has been keeping the trucks under the pump!

15.01.2022 The first delivery of chemical from Stirling Ag arrived on farm in Gnowangerup today, the chem shed is stocked up and ready to go! Won’t be long now and the wheels/tracks will be turning

14.01.2022 59 days after we started harvest 2020 came to a close yesterday. An awesome effort by everyone involved in what was a tough but successful season! Bring on 2021!

14.01.2022 Job done! Both seeding crews have finished the job with a combined effort of around 7100 hectares planted for 2020. We’ve been very lucky to have good casual staff and great support from local businesses and their staff including AFGRI Gnowangerup, Stirling Ag and Elders Cranbrook. Seeding 2020 has been challenging at times but a top effort by everyone involved to get it all done in good time! Time for a few beers and to sit back and watch the crops grow

11.01.2022 Harvest MC driver It’s coming around to that time of year again and we are seeking to employ someone on a casual basis for the 2020 harvest to drive our Road Train. The job will involve operating, loading and carrying out day to day maintenance on our late model automatic Volvo truck and pocket road train set. The job will start approx late October for around 6-8 weeks ... Carting to local Cbh sites in Cranbrook, Gnowangerup and Borden. 08.01.2022 The first half of harvest has been slow and painful this year with plenty of hold ups from the weather and lots of lost time shifting between farms and small paddocks. That’s all behind us now though and we’ve made it back to Gnowangerup and in to the big open paddocks of wheat at Karingal. The harvest crew is running like clockwork smashing over 200 - 260 hectares a day at the moment!

08.01.2022 It’s all go this week, swathing is underway on some GM canola in Gnowangerup. The Boom spray is flat out spraying canola, faba beans, lupins and pasture paddocks. While the hay rake and baler are going hard wrapping up hay in Cranbrook. Silly season has begun!

07.01.2022 Friday evening cleaning seed, getting ready for seeding 2021

07.01.2022 Seeding is well under way now with the all of the faba beans, oats (hay) and canola in the ground at Karingal. While the team at Cranbrook have been seeding a mix of canola, barley and oats as well as spraying for bugs on the canola that is already up and away. Onto the lupins for both teams Tomorow, Hopefully a few less break downs and a smooth run ahead!

06.01.2022 The Gnowangerup crew sitting ready to tear into the last 450ha’s of wheat at Karingal when the wind drops. While the Cranbrook crew are finishing off the last couple of paddocks at Brickhouse and putting out the first roundup hit on the 530XT tru-flex canola. Not long to go now!

06.01.2022 Loading up with the last tank of the season in the SP Sprayer then straight into the headers tomorrow to start on the canola rows!

05.01.2022 It’s been a big week with some late nights and early starts with Harry from Great Southern Seed Grading keeping us under the pump. All of the seed for season 2020 has been graded, pickled and stored ready to go. The rams have all been put out with the ewes for mating and the sheep are all fed and happy.

05.01.2022 The rain has come and the dust has gone, we’ve been very lucky to receive 15-25mm of rain at all farms over the last few days! Both seeders are going hard with extra staff joining us today to help keep them moving 24 hours a day as we get stuck into planting barley

04.01.2022 The harvest crew are making good progress finishing the last of the canola on Friday and jumping straight back into barley at Karingal. So far we have covered 2100 hectares of the 5800 hectare program after having a great run of weather

04.01.2022 Finally found the run we’ve been looking for, 2019 is in the history books! 64 paddocks across 5 different farms totaling 5800 hectares of crop all harvested in 6 weeks. Top effort by everyone involved in what was a very smooth harvest! Bring on season 2020
