13.01.2022 Three years ago, Lateral Events have donated funds to the Australian Himalayan Foundation to provide education for ten Nepalese children for ten years. Read about the program here: https://lateralevents.com/lateral-events-provides-ten-chil/... 11.01.2022 BAD PEOPLE How To Be Rid of Them Twenty years ago Geoffrey Robertson QC inspired the global justice movement with his ground-breaking book, Crimes Against Humanity. Since then, the movement has stalled, as nationalism takes hold and populist governments retreat from international courts and refuse to comply with their rulings. But there is an alternative. The Plan B for human rights looks back to national laws to name, blame and shame abusers. It strips them of their right to... enter democratic nations, and of ill-gotten funds they seek to deposit in global banks; and it bars them and their families from schools and hospitals in these countries. 04.01.2022 12 months ago, we had to cancel, on the morning of the event, a very special dinner at Lennox Hastie’s Firedoor Restaurant, due to the pandemic. This week, we returned to live events with three exclusive dinners at Firedoor, where Lennox showcases how he draws extraordinary flavours out of meat, fish and vegetables using only a wood fire, a grill, and his unique skills honed in Spain at Etxebarri and then in Sydney at Firedoor. How we love live events!

03.01.2022 New event announcement! A new series of annual cycling events has been announced today by Lateral Events, the owners and organisers of L’Étape Australia by To...ur de France. The new series of events, called 'Drops & Hoods' (referring to the bike handlebars), will uniquely offer riders more than ten events over four days, on multiple surfaces, multi-cycle disciplines, and multiple distances in Australia and New Zealand. Lateral Events are currently developing the first edition of Drops & Hoods to be hosted in the beautiful Snowy Mountains from Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th March 2022. This inaugural edition is set to feature some of the most famous elements of L’Étape Australia by Tour de France, staged in the Snowy Mountains between 2016 and 2019. Being developed in consultation with local stakeholders, local businesses, and the local community, each edition of 'Drops & Hoods’ will encompass much of its host region, feature the best local roads as well as taking riders on some remote gravel routes in the wilderness. The event will also promote the night-time economy by working with pubs, clubs, restaurants, and resorts so the event is the perfect weekend away.
