From the moment we pulled up at Lathami Lodge we were blown away by the amazing views of Stokes Bay and the surrounding countryside. It wasn't long before the resident wildlife came to welcome us, with two gorgeous Kangaroos visiting us every day of our 10 night stay. The Lodge itself was clean and spacious, with plenty of room for our family to spread out and relax, whether it be having a game of pool, watching a movie or enjoying a drink on the deck taking in the sunset. An early morning walk down to the beach was another great way to see Kangaroos in their natural environment and enjoy the views. Lathami's hosts, Brett and Jane Gill were amazing to deal with from the first phone enquiry right through to the follow up after we left to ensure our holiday was everything we hoped it would be. Their recommendations of local attractions were spot on, with our trip highlight being a visit to Paul's Place where we all got up close and personal with all sorts of wildlife. You can't visit Kangaroo Island without dropping in to see Paul, who's a real character and a real surprise. We spent 10 nights on Kangaroo Island and still didn't see everything there is to see. The beach at Stokes Bay, only 2.5 kilometres from the Lodge is by far the best on the island with plenty of rock pools and tunnels for the kids to explore, a protected rock pool to soak in and one of the best surf breaks, which we took full advantage of! Lunch at the Rock Pool Cafe was very enjoyable, with plenty of tasty morsels to tempt us. The beach nearby at Snellings was great for some body boarding and fishing off the rocks. The water was crystal clear and the sand, clean and white. We would highly recommend a visit to Kangaroo Island, staying at Lathami Lodge, for anyone wanting a family holiday that has it all! Jane and Brett, you have an amazing place and thank you for allowing us to experience it. We will be telling all our friends and family about our time at Lathami Lodge and hopefully we will be back in the not too distant future. Wonderful holiday all round, loved it, and am even more in love with our beautiful country after seeing the stunning coastline that surrounds Kangaroo Island.
