25.01.2022 Hi all Meet Steph Hume one of our new members , if you see her around the club stop & say Hello. Steph obtained her PPL in UK flying out of Cotswold Airport. During her training she flew to Scotland, up the west coast over Orkney & Shetland islands & down the east coast. Steph also flew to Europe ( from Cotswold to Jersey , Jersey thru France over the Pyrenees & landed in Andorra). Due to the Milawa Fly Away last month, it has been decided to run the event again this month.... For those that did have a go last month; you now know where not to look. No points will be awarded for the May event No one found the Missing Aircraft, except for my 8-year-old granddaughter. You may use your own aircraft or LVAC C172 UGO. This can be a team or individual event. Student Pilots are more than welcome to have a go. 17.01.2022 This year represents the 70th anniversary of the Latrobe Valley Aero Club and the 100th anniversary of the first flight in the Latrobe Valley. The LVAC committe...e has decided that it was important to celebrate these milestones and has organised a number of activities and displays From Friday the 25th through to Sunday the 27th of October 2019 the Aero Club will be hosting a number of static displays, BBQs and wings dinner with the highlight being the STOL competition and flying display on the Saturday afternoon. All things Latrobe Valley will be on showcase including support from Helimed 2 and Mahindra Aerospace. Its a free event and everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. So fly, drive or cycle in to enjoy the history and spectacle of aviation in the Valley. More displays and details in the coming weeks. Please share the joy .... Over... this time his achievements include working as an Aeronautical Engineer during the exciting times at the Government Aircraft Factory; as line pilot in coastal surveillance; senior management in MRO, airline pilot; charter pilot including check and training in C208 operations throughout the Whitsundays, type specialist with training and examiner approvals on C208, B200 and B1900 aircraft. Adrian will be our B200/350/B1900 type specialist and an integral part of our senior instructor team. He will provide students valuable training and input and assist them on their Pathways training. APTA continues to develop and test advanced programs, which provide CPL stud...ents advanced training to compliment their existing qualifications. This unique training exposes them to airline and charter skills and techniques including SOPs, CRM, MCC, TCAS, ADM, FMS, jet engines and airline cockpit concepts, as well as non type-specific aircraft automation. Also included is the theory and of course, flying the companys Boeing737 800 simulator. This new program is led by APTAs CEO - an airline pilot who holds four ICAO ATPL licences, thousands of airline hours, airline management experience and more than 15 years in flying training. 06.01.2022 The Australian Pilot Training Alliance (APTA) has announced of signing a service agreement with Ansett Aviation Training; the agreement allows APTA to dry lease... King Air 350i/200 simulators for APTA’s approved courses for B350 and B1900 type ratings. The King Air 350i/200 is Level D simulator with Proline 21 and FMC-3000. In announcing the successful agreement, APTA’s CEO said that the addition of the Level D simulator to the company’s existing training assets, including its in-house B737-800 simulator, provides a complete career pathway for APTA graduates. It’s in-line with our strategy of ‘pathway-training’ providing graduates the job-readiness they need, with more career options and qualifications than ever thought possible with more affordable investment the student deserve, from 0 up to type with less than 100k’ he said.
