22.01.2022 This Monday 19 October is a University Wellness Day. Library staff will be taking the day off to practice our wellness exercises. This might mean going for a walk, greeting the morning with a happy cat yoga pose or finding our inner peace during a meditation session. It is important to take time for yourself and rejuvenate the mind, body and soul for the last weeks of semester. This means all Library buildings are closed, except for Mildura. Our online resources and tools will continue to be available with staff on chat, phone and email from 1pm-5pm.

22.01.2022 The library is the beneficiary of a generous bequest made by the Davies family in 2006. The bequest is spent annually to purchase resources for the Library collection, focusing on women authors and politics. This year the library purchased Black Women Writers https://bit.ly/3nRZWlk and the Oxford Research Encyclopedia in Politics https://bit.ly/366v8Hs. These resources are available now.

21.01.2022 Today we celebrate Melvil Dewey and the library classification system he created to efficiently maintain our libraries’ inventory of books. Who knows what would have happened if we didn’t have the Dewey Decimal System! We’d probably have books organised in ‘Genre Tubs’, like cheap DVDs for sale at home entertainment stores. This clip explains the system, you’re welcome https://bit.ly/2K2sI40. #ThankyouDewey
