24.01.2022 La Trobe University Soccer Club has two coaching positions available across our Men’s and Women’s programs for Season 2021. We are looking for a Men's Social team coach, and a Women's Assistant Coach, both of which are roles that would be suited to lovers of the game who are new to coaching, or experienced coaches who are looking for a more social team environment in the coming years. Having grown to over 250 players in 2019 and 2020 we look to expand our football programs to... further develop a unique playing style and training approach and have unity across all our performance and social teams. La Trobe University Soccer Club aims to work with prospective coaches to find the best fit for their development. Previous coaching experience and FFA Licences are preferred but not essential. At the club you will work with several experienced staff and a wonderful group of players led by Technical Director Stefan Busso (FFA A Licence and Coach Educator). If you believe you can make a positive impact on our great club, please send an email to [email protected] to begin the process. We look forward to hearing from you. #teamlatrobe

20.01.2022 Yesterday the M5 social team took to the field to play their very first game! The first half was a tight contest with both teams having a lot of chances. M5 went into the break 2-0 down with a big second half coming up. The boys started the second half very well taking control of the game with Malik scoring a superb goal. Unfortunately M5 conceded a late penalty to see off a comeback. The boys put in a very good effort for their first ever game playing together and look for...ward to their next game this Friday night! The final score was 1-3. #latrobeolé #teamlatrobe

19.01.2022 Yesterday saw the first competitive game for our 3rd Women’s team and the very first competitive match for many of the players. While they did not come away with any points, the loss did not dampen the spirits of the team. The team conceded early, which meant an uphill battle from early on. The team persisted; linking up passes and playing the ball to feet skilfully up the ground. The team’s efforts were rewarded with two goals - one working its way from LUSC Legend, Jenny u...p to striker, Livvy who slot the ball safely into the back of the net. The second goal of the match came from Hope in the 79th minute. The goal coincidentally gave the team hope that the game was not yet over, but despite the team’s best efforts up until the final whistle, they were unable to get ahead. The women left the ground with their heads high - with a lot of small triumphs to celebrate and goals to work towards. A few words from W3 Coach Patrick O’Connor: Very proud of the W3 girls who played a very strong and physical Warragul team. We played more better football. We passed the ball around really well. All players performed really well however I thought Tara was my 'best on ground'. Passing the ball forward playing into danger area cutting back it was enjoyable to watch. I cannot wait for training Tuesday #latrobolé #teamlatrobe

12.01.2022 The annual LUSC Old Boys Christmas Lunch, held for 15 consecutive years already, was a huge success. This year it was hosted by the club legend Marco Finanzio at the newly opened Umberto's Espresso Bar in Thornbury and it could not have been any better - the quality and quantity of food was fantastic, the service superb and the setting very intimate and just right for a gathering of this type. Everyone was super happy to see each other and catch up after the months of lockdown. Huge thanks to former President Nick Moutis and another Club legend James Boston for organising the event.

02.01.2022 Today marked a long awaited start to the season for the W2 team. A very physical and tense 1st half lead to few chances for either side. Whilst La Trobe bossed possesion, we were yet to have any attacking presence leaving it 0-0 at the break. The second half was defined by every individuals work on and off the ball for the team. After many great opportunities for our attackers it took a cracker of a free kick from Zenia put us up 1-0. The team pulled together to hold on for t...he win. A great start to the season and confidence boost as we set our sights on Round 2. #latrobeolé #teamlatrobe
