25.01.2022 A message from Amanda.... Hi all. Just checking in to make sure you are all keeping well. 15th April is the date we have originally decided on to return to rehearsal, but of course we will do what is in line with the government regulations, with social distancing etc. ... We will keep you updated prior to that. Most importantly, as band is a big part of what we do, and you feel the need to chat to someone or are missing the contact of our band family or just feeling overwhelmed with everything going on, give someone a call, message on here, email, just keep in touch, and stay safe and healthy.

20.01.2022 Members of the LCB Committee spent some quality time with the storage cupboards today. Cleaning out, cataloguing instruments, finding all kinds of treasures, sorting music and dusting off cobwebs. There is a lot more to do but we made a great start.

09.01.2022 Hello everyone, Apologies that there has been very little information and response from this page so far this year. We have been having difficulty accessing the page but luckily that has all been sorted now. As many of you would have seen via Team App the decision has been made to suspend Launceston City Band rehearsals at this time to minimise the risks associated with COVID-19. ... We are hoping to resume rehearsals on April 15th. Please check Team App, this Facebook page and your emails regularly for updates and information regarding LCB rehearsals. On behalf of the LCB committee and Darren, please look after your health, keep practising your parts at home and we hope to see you all back at rehearsals in April.

09.01.2022 After this week’s rehearsal we had a yummy supper to thank and farewell Cathy. She has been playing with us for a few months and is now returning to Melbourne. It has been a pleasure having Cathy as part of our saxophone section and band family.

06.01.2022 LCB is setting up ready to record our entry for the NSW Online Band Festival. We will be recording 5 songs today; Inspired By Hope, Hymn to Freedom, St. Louis Blues, The Blues Factory, and Dances With Wolves.

06.01.2022 LCB have just completed our first week of ‘Covid compliant’ band rehearsals. After many weeks practising by ourselves at home, then a few weeks of sectional rehearsals it was great to be able to fill these chairs with a mix of instruments and hear the wonderful sounds we make together as an ensemble. Thank you to Zach for the photo.
