21.01.2022 Have you heard the news? Starting 4 December, Qantas are beginning three weekly return flights between Launceston and Sydney for the summer holidays. 20.01.2022 We're delighted to hear the Premier's announcement today that safely, and with all precautions still at the ready, the border will be open to Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Northern Territory, the ACT and should further advice allow, NSW too. We're particularly looking forward to returning Queensland (and soon NSW) services to our schedule. Hans, our CEO is excited to hear the news, We’re thrilled the borders will reopen earlier than expected, the move ...will kick-start domestic aviation and help boost our local tourism economy. Our data shows Queensland is the top holiday destination for Tasmanians, so the news will no doubt drive holiday bookings fast. The return of the route would help bring more airport workers on-site, supporting local jobs." Of course, if you're looking to visit Tasmania, Launceston Airport is the closest arrival point to some of the state’s most famous attractions including Cradle Mountain National Park and the Bay of Fires, together with direct access to some of the best hiking, mountain biking and golf experiences in the country. As always, safety is our number one priority and we will work closely with the relevant authorities to ensure the safety of visitors and locals. #NorthernTasmania #DiscoverTasmania #SeeAustralia
