25.01.2022 Jorja's personal project is to raise funds for Just Cats Tasmania. On Friday Jorja is running a movie afternoon and will be ordering pizzas for students to purchase. In addition Jorja has organised a coin line for a Town Hall activity. The money raised will go towards helping Just Cats care for the welfare of cats in Launceston.



24.01.2022 Today for LTI Harry and Lilli are out in our community learning and exploring. Harry is at Woodend equestrian Center working with Bernadette Gibson. Lilli’s placement is with Starting Point Neighbourhood House. Well done to both students who are working on LTI projects.

24.01.2022 Today we celebrated RUOK day with Rob’s advisory group leading some innovative activities all designed to create awareness of mental health.

19.01.2022 Check out some photos from our 2nd annual carnival that is like no other traditional carnival! Dancing, gaming, music and technology challenges to begin with. We are looking fwd to rescheduling the remainder of our program including the Inveresk Dash and tug of war. Amazing leadership on display from our students who coordinated and led the activities.

18.01.2022 Our students have been out and about learning in our local area! Interested students have recently visited UTAS stadium and a vineyard at Lilydale, hearing from experts in the fields of horticulture and viticulture.

15.01.2022 Information Evening - interested in an enrolment for 2021? Launceston Big Picture School offers a small, flexible and personalised learning environment for students in years 9-12. The Big Picture Learning Design requires students to actively engage in planning and participating in their own academically rigorous, personalised learning. To find out more about our school and enrolment options for 2021, you are invited to an Information Evening on Wednesday 11th November at 5.0...0pm. The evening will include a brief introduction to Big Picture learning, student testimonials where current students will share their experiences and a quick Q&A. To keep everyone safe and to ensure we comply with our COVID Safety Plan, interested students should be accompanied by one parent/carer only. 14.01.2022 We are super proud of Jorja who gave an amazing presentation at the annual CCYP Ambassador Statewide Event. Students discuss and make decisions on important topical issues like climate change, youth mental health and equity and diversity.

12.01.2022 SIDS and Kids is dedicated to saving the lives of babies and children during pregnancy, birth, infancy and childhood and supporting bereaved families. The AAAHH!! Advisory is supporting SIDS and Kids Tasmania by celebrating Red Nose Day on Friday, 14 August 2020. Students have been planning fundraising events prior to and on the day. Planned events are: Chocolate Drive with parental permission, students can take a box of chocolates home to sell to family and friends all... money and unsold chocolates are to be returned to school by Thursday, 13 August. Students can also purchase chocolates at recess and lunch. Red Clothes Day will be held on Friday, 14 August. Students who wear a piece of red clothing on the day will be asked for a gold coin donation. Barbeque Lunch will be held on Friday, 14 August. Students are required to order their lunch through the online survey. If you would like some chocolates to sell, please contact the office on 6335 1500. See more

10.01.2022 REMINDER: LBPS Book Sales for 2021 are being held on: * Wednesday, 27th January from 1:00pm 5:00pm * Friday, 29th January from 10:00am 2:00pm This will be an opportunity to collect student stationery packs, uniforms, pay for levies and to meet the staff.... The 2021 Parent Information Packs are being posted out this week, and it is vitally important our school has the correct and updated student information on our files. Please bring your completed forms to the book sales days and if you have any questions regarding the information and forms then our staff are happy to provide assistance on the day. The staff at LBPS are very much looking forward to welcoming our students back for 2021 and are excited to meet all our new enrolments. Please Note: the restrictions in place due to COVID-19 have meant that social distancing requirements will be followed during January Book Sales only x1 Parent/Guardian on school site.

Huge congratulations to the following students: Annabelle Aitken- Highly Commended Georgia Hall- Highly Commended Lilli Beausang- Exhibition Hanger’s Award... Congratulations girls and we look forward to seeing your work on display in the Launceston Library from 22/9-3/10.
