25.01.2022 Do you sell goods and services into the Northern Tasmania health and community sector? We need to hear from you! The Launceston Chamber of Commerce and the Northern Tasmania Development Corporation - NTDC are working with The Regional Australia Institute to understand the supply chain that services the community and health sector in Northern Tasmania. The key questions we want answers to are: What goods and services are needed across all northern community and health serv...ices? Is there value in collective purchasing, import substitution to enable us to develop more business in Northern Tas? Now more than ever we need to BUY LOCAL but before we can do that, we need to understand what we need and who is out there to supply it. If you have 10 minutes to spare we would love for you to fill out this survey and let us know your involvement in the supply chain https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BYR7BPN alternatively please contact [email protected] for a stakeholder interview.

25.01.2022 In light of the current health situation, it is with great regret we advise the postponement of our signature event, the Tasplan Business Excellence Awards. With the event bringing together so many members of our business community the Chamber has made the difficult decision to postpone the Business Excellence Awards to a time when it is safe to run an event with such a high attendance. This is expected to be early 2021. While we are devastated that the event wont be runnin...g in October, we will be using the time to rejuvenate and evolve the Awards concept and we look forward to announcing some exciting changes at the launch of the awards, which is expected to be later this year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Tasplan Super for their continued support of the Awards.

17.01.2022 A glorious winter morning in Launceston.
16.01.2022 It is with deep regret that the Launceston Chamber of Commerce wishes to advise that the Inspiring Women in Leadership Lunch 2020 has been postponed. With the constantly changing health concerns and precautions surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) the Chamber feels that, while the risk is minimal, the congregation of such a large audience in close proximity could put our valued Members and Attendees at risk. It is expected the Inspiring Women in Leadership 2020 will be occu...r at a point in the future when the virus is controlled and risk to our Members and Attendees has been nullified. All Attendees have been contacted via email. If you have any questions or concerns, please have no hesitation in contacting us.

14.01.2022 Managing a Team from Home? The current work situation for many organisations means that employees who were once in an office are now spread out through their homes. This is new territory for many employers and Chamber members Hays Australia have offered their remote working hub for all businesses. The hub can be found here. https://social.hays.com/remote-working/
14.01.2022 "The best form of stimulus we could ever do is for locals to support local businesses." Whether it be for yourself or your business, the best option is to buy local.

13.01.2022 In 1939 during the toughest of times, the British government produced a poster to motivate the public. The message was clear; Keep Calm and Carry On. It's now 2020 and right here in Launceston we're facing our own tough times. So with some help from our friends at Think Big Printing and Launceston Central City we have a message for anyone who isn't self isolating. Keep Calm and Spend Local - whether you're purchasing for yourself or your business, the local choice is the best.
13.01.2022 With Father's Day just around the corner, it's time to Keep Calm and Spend Local... Make Dad's day with a gift or gift voucher from a local business! It's the gift that keeps on giving... Members, do you have a Father's Day special or gift idea to share? Why not post it in the comments.
12.01.2022 You may recall our post in May where we said farewell to the Tasmanian Country newspaper. Well this morning we can share some great news on behalf of Chamber Member Font Public Relations -the Tasmanian Country is back!
12.01.2022 One of the greatest impacts of the COVID-19 response is the loss of employment as business contracts. The state government has been quick to act with the Rapid Response Skills Initiative Program. Chamber members Avidity Training and Development RTO 60153 is a provider of the Rapid Response Skills Initiative Program, which has been developed in response to the recognised need of supporting people through the transition from employment to redundancy, to enable them to gain new skills, knowledge, and/or the opportunity to upskill through training to assist participants to reach their goals to re-enter the workforce. For more information please visit https://lcc.asn.au/coronavirus-(covid-19)-resources#avidity
12.01.2022 It is a shame that this important masthead wont continue in some form. The agricultural sector is critical to the economy of the north and to the commercial vibrancy of cities like Launceston. The Tas Country has been a cornerstone of this for such a long time. This leaves a big gap in the rural economic and social landscape - lets hope the gap is filled by some one or something soon.
11.01.2022 It is critical that we all keep as much money in our local economies as possible. It was terrific today to kick this campaign off with Launceston Central City (Cityprom) and City of Launceston Official Mayor Albert van Zetten and made possible by great Launceston business Think Big Printing, who have generously printed all the stickers and posters. If we all work together, support local business and keep local jobs we will come out the other side.

04.01.2022 Chamber Member CVGT Australia are seeing an unprecedented number of people requesting help. Like the rest of the world, our community has been hit hard by the recent unemployment crisis. Normally when people reach out for help, they raise dollars but CVGT are raising hours.
