24.01.2022 Wishing everyone a Happy New Year from all of us at The City of Launceston Handbell Choir #newyear #handbells #highnote #2020

24.01.2022 Really wishing the bells were home with me right now

24.01.2022 The stage is set for tomorrow's Christmas livestream! Tune in to Emily Sanzaro Tasmanian Harpist at 8pm AEDT!

21.01.2022 Merry Christmas to you all. We have one more performance this morning then that’s all she rang for 2019. Here’s a snippet from a rehearsal for last night’s service

20.01.2022 We are all set up and ready to go! The Launceston City Community Christmas is going ahead with 250 seats this year to allow for appropriate spacing. Such a lov...ely event which would't be possible without Tas Independent Retailers/IGA who sponsor the event by way of providing all the food. We also have the support of our Launceston City Council and many other sponsors. St Vincent de Paul, Catholicare, City Mission North/NW, The Salvation Army Launceston and The Launceston Benevolent Society organise and host this event jointly and want to say thank you to all volunteers, Albert Hall staff, entertainers such as the City of Launceston Handbell Choir and our MC Matthew Garwood and especially our sponsors that make this day possible. Happy Christmas and see you all tomorrow!

18.01.2022 Sunday sillies

16.01.2022 How great is this?!

16.01.2022 We just love this place. Every year we’re welcomed for Christmas Eve. Can’t wait for this years service.

16.01.2022 With thanks for having us again

15.01.2022 11 years ago we were in New Zealand! During the week we’ll share some of our memories from the Festival

15.01.2022 People of Launceston - at 11am 25th April you may hear the sound of a bugle, horn, or any instrument as the players of the band play the last post/reveille at t...he end of their driveways. Newstead Youngtown Riverside Trevallyn and other suburbs. If you hear one, feel free to stand at the end of your driveway too, and share a moment of remembrance for those who have sacrificed so much. "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them."

15.01.2022 When there’s a jumping castle right near the handbell table...you just have to jump! Thanks Nic from Fancy Faces Facepainting for opening the castle doors to us!

15.01.2022 We always make a point of getting out and about when we’re away at a Handbell festival. In Christchurch we even managed to sneak in a show, Starlight Express, on our last night. Now a CLHC favourite!

12.01.2022 So glad the sheet music has finally been released for this!

12.01.2022 Following on from our New Zealand memories from 2009 - our fearless leader taking Massed Ringing! Always a challenge, credit to any and all conductors for stepping up to this task

12.01.2022 Our Christmas Day morning

10.01.2022 During the handbells off-season you’ve still got to keep busy. Some of us watched, while others played our other instruments today with City of Launceston RSL Band Happy Australia Day

08.01.2022 This is an amazing story about our clock and bells.

08.01.2022 This goes someway to explain handbell ringing !!

07.01.2022 Two years ago the International Handbell Symposium was held in Cairns. This brought together Handbell ringers from all around the world. This year the Symposium was meant to be held in Hong Kong, unfortunately this could not occur. So instead enjoy the final concert of massed ringing from Cairns. We hope to be able to attend in 2022 in USA. https://www.youtube.com/watch

07.01.2022 This is quite on the mark

05.01.2022 The boss turns 50!

04.01.2022 Well we’re not ringing and our bells are locked away. But if ringing handbells sounds like something you might be interested in get in touch! You don’t have to be a musical virtuoso to play handbells!

04.01.2022 Well ... this is the truest representation of 2020

03.01.2022 Tonight we’re getting the bells out of storage, and ringing them, for the first time in 317 days! Let’s hope muscle memory kicks in quickly!

02.01.2022 Celebrate Christmas with All Saints. Handbells included! The beautiful music starts at 7pm. Hoping to see lots of faces #christmas #handbells

02.01.2022 What a day! We were thankful once again to be able play at the Launceston City Community Christmas. More to come but in the mean time here’s a little video taken by our very own Mayor!! Thank you
