07.01.2022 LAUNDRY TIPS AND COVID-19 Here are some helpful tips with your washing and drying that will ensure you get the best service at our laundromat Keep doing laundry! Regular cleaning will assist in reducing the spread of the virus as the virus may live on clothing for up to 2-3 days ... The hotter the wash the better and with detergent!!! The Centre of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the USA and the WHO, recommend washing items at 60C or the highest temperature available. The virus hates high heat and detergent. DRYERS: Viruses DO NOT LIKE HEAT and drying will further prevent the spread of the virus. Our Dexter dryers are made in the USA and are industrial quality and considered the best in the world. Dryers on HIGH HEAT are set at 190F or 87.778C. The recommendation from the CDC is that a drying time of 30 minutes on HIGH HEAT (in conjunction with washing in detergent) is the best way to ensure virus control. Our washing machines add their own detergent, but if you want to add more then add sufficient to enable good foaming Avoid shaking dirty laundry!!! This will minimise the possibility of dispersing any virus in the air. Please be responsible for your own hygiene by if possible wearing gloves or using sanitisers. We clean and disinfect every day.
