24.01.2022 A brief update on progress with some of our projects this year!

23.01.2022 Nothing is sacred! Ron trying to have a quiet beer and cheese and bikkies when along comes a thieving little ratbag........

23.01.2022 Heres a photo of little Sunny, a little Western Grey Joey. This is specially for 6 year old Skyla who stayed with us at Nulla Nulla Farm Retreat with her mum and dad over the long weekend. She helped us feed the animals all weekend and Sunny was one of her favourites Thank you Skyla for all your help PS Sunny misses you xx

23.01.2022 Meet little Sunny, 515g Western Grey male. Poor mum ran in to a fence and broke her back. Thanks to the staff from Merredin solar farm who found her (hence the name) and called Andrea from Pat and Chat vet. We attended the scene together and facilitated a peaceful death. Little Sunny's pouch was full of dirt from the poor mum spinning round and trying to get up. He'll take a while to clean up but his ears are up and eyes are open, he took to the teat straight away and he's feisty, so hopefully he'll do well

22.01.2022 Typical Euro. Shes spread out on most of the couch and Im squashed into a corner!

22.01.2022 This is George, our newest arrival who came to us from Darling Range Shelter in Perth today. Just about the same size as wee Linda which is perfect for them to grow up together. Thanks to Claire his home carer who has done a wonderful job of raising him so far

22.01.2022 This is Bailey Beautiful, gentle giant. Just dont mess with him....

14.01.2022 Jetta is a Walleroo female Joey wh came to us yesterday to continue her rehabilitation back to the wild. The lovely Kathy from Doodlakine has been caring for her since October last year when she was just a wee tiny thing. Jetta has already found the best spot in the house. Clever girl!

13.01.2022 Typical Euro. She's spread out on most of the couch and I'm squashed into a corner!

12.01.2022 I just had the most incredible morning at Parnana Pikurtu Wildlife Sanctuary in Moorine Rock run by Ron Goodhill and Laura Black. I arrived at 5.30am for brea...kfast. After feeding all the animals I joined Ron on the school bus run...because hes the school bus driver of course! 40kms of gravel to pickup 10 kids which is most of the Moorine Rocks Primary school. They have 16 kids! Ron wears so many hats (as does Laura). How did I meet him? At my Southern Cross workshop because Rons a fab photographer too So many great pics and a heartwarming story coming your way. . . #storiesfromthesticks Parnana Pikurtu Wildlife Sanctuary Rural Room ABC Goldfields-Esperance See more

12.01.2022 We would like to say a huge thank you to Lucy Lines and her wonderful year 1 class in Narembeen. The kids encouraged people to donate sheets and towels for the animals. I went to their class with two of our pouched joeys to chat to them and they presented me with a great big bar of chocolate to say thanks... And to top it all off they had a bake sale this morning and raised $300 for us! I'm sure your teachers and mum's and dad's are very proud of you all for your great work and kindness. All the animals are very happy and grateful xx

12.01.2022 Relocating two of our grey boys, Marty and Boo Roo, from home enclosure out to their soft release enclosure. Thanks to Andrea from Pat and Chat vet for coming out to sedate them for us. All went well and they woke up nice and calm, ready to start the next part of their journey back to the wild.

10.01.2022 Thanks also to Steph Oetiker for donating items from her cleared out linen cupboard. Very handy and I've shared some with Merredin vetinary hospital xx

09.01.2022 PARNANA PIKURTU WILDLIFE SANCTUARY INC. THE PALACE HOTEL FUNDRAISER 09/08/2020 FINAL TOTAL RAISED ON THE NIGHT $9000... On behalf of all the furred and feathered critters at Parnana Pikurtu wildlife Sanctuary, Laura Black and Ron Goodhill would like to say a massive thank you to the following people;- Liz Sheehan, manager of The Palace Hotel Southern Cross who had the idea to have a fundraiser for us and then proceeded to organise everything. The band, auctioneer, items for auction, raffle prizes, posters, extra staff for the night, including her own family members, and a fundraiser on her own Facebook page. There are not enough words to describe your energy, commitment, drive and support, or to adequately thank you. Thanks Liz, you are a legend. Jamie Turner from Australian Premium Feeds who organised 18 framed Sports Memorabilia items for auction which he brought with him from Perth. Thanks so much Jamie, your contribution and support was fantastic. The Benny Mayhem Band who played great music all evening and long after the advertised end time of 8pm. Not only did they entertain us and get us all up dancing but Ben MCd the night as well. Thanks guys you were fabulous. Craig Wildman, Lizs brother in law and auctioneer extraordinaire! Thank you so much for such a great job. We wouldnt have achieved nearly the amount we did without your skills. Craig was ably assisted by Lizs sister and his wife Dee Sheehan and they both helped out clearing tables as well. Thank you both. Glen Brooks held all the auction items up high so everyone could see them, so thanks to you too. All the businesses and individuals around town and from Perth who donated such great prizes for the raffle. Our heartfelt thanks. All the kitchen and bar staff, including Liz and her sisters, who ran their feet off all evening serving food and drinks to everyone. You all did such a wonderful job. Sister number two, Orla Cresswell and her husband Shane stocked the bar, washed glasses and donated a raffle prize. Val Mullins and Emma Brooks sold raffle tickets, cleaned tables and were waitresses for the night. Thanks to Jona Halimi and Katie Slack who were troopers behind the bar and Glen and Emmas son Tom who did his first stint behind the bar as he had just done his RSA. Considering how busy it was, he was remarkably cool, calm and collected! Head chef Julian Corbett and his army of kitchen staff fed delicious food to the masses all evening. Thank you all. And lastly but by no means least, to all members of our local community who showed up on a cold and rainy night to support us and made the night the roaring success it was. Thank you all so much. We had so much fun and we are so grateful for the support. Funds will go towards the following:- Ongoing feed. Joey milk, alpaca mix and hay for the roos, and fruit and veg, seed and nuts, frozen mice and king worms for the birds. Aviary building and furnishing and Soft release enclosures Vet bills
