12.01.2022 Update on the 2021 Laura Fair In this COVID world The Laura Fair Committee have had to make some tough decisions. At the September meeting it was decided that all planning of The Laura Fair 2021 be suspended until the December 2020 meeting, which includes seeking stallholder applications, entertainers, bookings and all the work that would normally be happening behind the scenes. At the December 2020 meeting we will decide if we will be going ahead with the 2021 event. If th...e COVID restrictions that have been placed on our State are still in place to any extent, we will likely cancel the event. If in December the committee decide that it's safe for us to go ahead and hold the event, we will be spreading the word and seeking applications, entertainers and booking all that’s needed for the event then. We are aware of the tight turn around we will need if the event does go ahead, and the committee is committed to making that happen. 08.01.2022 It’s with a heavy heart The Laura Fair Committee have made the decision to not go ahead with the 2021 Laura Fair. As a committee we felt that our decision was the only one open to us, there was no possible way we would be able to comply with the COVID Safe requirements needed for an event of our size. In a normal year, we start getting busy with our planning, decision making and processes in July/August. This year we decided to postpone all committee work until December k...nowing that if we were able to, we would pull our event together. With the way the state still is, the risks of lockdowns and breakouts are still very much present, our hands are tied, and we are unable to comply. The Laura Fair Committee aren’t going anywhere, we have plans and ideas for events and opportunities over the coming year that are on a smaller scale and will be presented for our local community and local stallholders. We hope to present to you the best Laura Fair the community has EVER seen in 2022, Laura’s 150th year. Over the next few days we will be contacting Stallholders, Entertainers and Volunteers individually, please look out for that email with the further information you need. xx The Laura Fair Committee
