22.01.2022 "Working Bee' at Laura Turf Club over Easter. This magnificent annual country Race Meeting is attended by an ever increasing number of people from all "walks of life" and from all places around the country and also some visitors from overseas. What many of us didn't realise is that this Racing Event and the Rodeo Event rely so heavily on their Committee Members and volunteers to prepare for these annual events and to work and ensure they run successfully. This Easter, from F...riday 10th April to Monday 13th April, the LATC Committee has organised a Working Bee at the Laura Race Club. We intend to: *Do mowing/slashing. *Repair & replace outside running rails. *Do basic maintenance/repair jobs. *Do a general cleanup of the grounds. Why not join us for a camp which involves some voluntary work and some good fellowship. Call Graham Love on 0418 476 966 for more information. See more

11.01.2022 It is with regret that the executive committee of the Laura Amateur Turf Club have come to the decision to call off the 2020 Laura Race Weekend in June. With what is happening in our Country today and The Cape being in lock down we had no other choice. The working bee to be held over the Easter Long Weekend will now be postponed, we will reschedule at a later date when we know how this whole saga pans out. Keep safe everyone and we will be back in 2021 even bigger and better.... Jenni Sorensen Secretary LATC

05.01.2022 "Working Bee' at Laura Turf Club over Easter." Some of the works to be completed before the meeting in June. 1. 30+ Running rails to be changed. 2. Running power to the Jockeys Rooms.... 3. Repairs to be done on the stables near Greg's camp caused by a falling tree. 4. Timber to be installed in the stables to stop horses getting legs caught. 5. Line container for Lady's Jockey Room. 6. Move the fence along the new container to segregate the public. 7. Modify the old food stall for the Gino's Pizza. 8. Water line replacement is scoped and the materials ordered today. 9. Move the old water tank back to the back of the concrete toilets. 10. Pour slab in shed behind Slick's camp. 11. Erect a scaffolding tower for the Stewards. 12. TV Boxes to be installed in the bar area. 13. Swabbing stalls to be modified. 14. Barriers to be put in place behind stables. 15. Go over the Starting Barriers and repair as necessary. 16. Define access to coach the public to the safe area to cross near the stables. 17. Convert the tie up stalls to be able to have them as night stalls after the meeting. 18. Clean up our lay-down area behind Greg's camp. 19. Get the old tractor back from Mt Molloy with the slasher ASAP. 20. The Rodeo club is going to run a line to their tanks along with our new water line. 21. Install the last two steel beams in the bar area. 22. Two gates to be made for the trainers to access the stables. 23. A few trees and branches need trimming on the track and in the camping area. As you can see there is a lot of work to do before our Race Meeting in June, so all hands on deck over the Easter break would be greatly appreciated. We will have a large crowd on site over Easter and will have BBQ's and Beers ready for the workers. Please call if you are unable to get there at Easter but are willing to assist at another time and we can delegate some jobs to you. Regards Graham Love 0418 476 966
