24.01.2022 When Greg was dying, his family placed a hospital bed in his lounge room so that anyone who wanted to come and say goodbye, could. Greg had many visitors over those last few days, it was more like a celebration than saying goodbye. So many people came and laughed and cried. He didn’t feel much like eating but said all he wanted a chocolate éclair. 05.01.2022 LPCF Ambassador Lucy Cornes’s younger brother Tom was always strong, stoic and focused on living life to the fullest. He was highly intelligent, had lots of beautiful friends and was an avid surfer who loved the water. Devastatingly, Tom was diagnosed with brain cancer at age 25. From the moment he was diagnosed, his family knew this disease would take his life. For Tom and his family, their goal was for him to live as well as possible, for as long as possible. And to do that..., he needed a safe space to manage his pain, medication and mental health. Thankfully, Laurel Hospice became their safe space, and the incredible nursing staff helped to make their journey a little easier.
