This very lovely pale blue Topaz actually originated in Victoria. Its the first Victorian Topaz that I know of that I have set, so very exciting to me as a massive topaz fan! 24.01.2022 It came to my attention that I hadnt posted a photo of this one finished after a lovely lady bought this one @findcollective yesterday! It looked so beautiful on her hand and fit perfectly! I get goose bumps when I get to meet the people who fall in love with my work. It was my fortnightly day in the shop and I was very happy to see this one off to its new home, and a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY for Sunday! Its all silver and all Killiecrankie Diamonds/Topaz from Flinders Island Tasmania.

A really fresh colour combo and one for the green lovers out there Set in textured and blackened sterling silver. I have some really nice blackened chain that goes beautifully with this too. 24.01.2022 Woah the past week Ive set 25 stones. These are 23 of them. Dont worry the other two survived and are already on a very happy new owners finger! Ill show you that one shortly! All of these have a bit more tidying up to do and a final polish and they will be on their way to Daylesford and Hobart. 22.01.2022 With a beer in hand and the intent of a pre dinner ISO Jam (playing drums by myself to music through my big PA which is also in my workshop) A Topaz caught my eye, and a design I had been procrastinating about for ages started making me create a setting, then dinner, then by midnight this ring had happened......and I forgot to even open that beer! 21.01.2022 What a day yesterday was! My first day back @findcollective for two months! Im still beaming It was full of meant to be moments including this ring ending up on the finger of someone who has followed its creation right from the beginning from one of my in the making Instagram shots. She connected with the stone and the beginning of the design taking shape and has very patiently waited for me to finish it. I promised her she could see it first as soon as it was finishe...d before deciding on the purchase. But I think she had claimed it from the start Meant to be!! Her initial reaction was priceless and it totally made my day! 20.01.2022 So today I present you with another very special ring! Another meant to be piece! I was at the very beginning of this ring, only just starting to bend the prepared gold into shape to fit this beautiful Killiecrankie Diamond when it won the heart of a lovely lady Its turns out, that what I had in mind for this piece suited her to a T! She was super patient waiting for me to create this ring in my own time which meant no pressure and the whole piece came together beautifully! Im very happy with how well the stone set! Such a joy! I sent it and it was actually on her finger the next day!! That was amazing in itself! And now she has added such beautiful sentimental value and meaning to this ring that it had become even more special! Thank you
20.01.2022 After finishing today with a bit of polishing it reminded me I hadnt yes showed you these earrings I finished last week! They are now @findcollective in Hobart. They came up a treat! I think they look more lovely in real life! First pair are pale blue oval Killiecrankie Diamonds which are Topaz from Flinders Island Tasmania with little heated London blue topaz teardrops. Silver with yellow gold hooks and loops. 13.01.2022 Hang in there Victorians!! I know youre not allowed out at the moment but it will be worth the wait! This stunning little pale Blue Topaz was discovered in Brazil and cut by someone very skilled! The facets are an unusual style for a pear shape and absolutely mesmerising! There is some bi colour going on in this stone showing of a mix of white and blue so you get that under water feel. Good news for little fingers! Its a tiny size K! 08.01.2022 This large icy blue Queensland Topaz is just over 17 carats and is 17mm x 15mm in size! I wanted this to be an elegant and minimalist design. This is a generous finger size U that I think will look amazing on someone who has nice strong hands.
08.01.2022 Look what came to visit! A piece I made in 2004! Wow Its sweet 16 How time flies..and I must say this is still one of my favourites!! This ring has been beautifully looked after and came back to the bench to get a little accidental graze on the side of the band smoothed out. One of the most beautiful Iolites I have ever worked with! My lovely customer even sent me photos of the other pieces she bought that I had made. Its so nice to see where my pieces end up and als...o the way people pair pieces up to wear as a set. It was great to have the chance to take more photos. My camera back then was not fantastic. This was also before I joined the Gold and Silversmiths guild of Australia so I did use metal purity stamps inside the band but I didnt have my own hallmark stamp so all work before 2010 have my nickname Loz and sometimes the year that I engraved next to the metal stamps See more

07.01.2022 I love making this style! They keep evolving. The last one had two bands with three stones and this one has three bands and three stones making it wider again. This one is all Killiecrankie Topaz. I promised so show my lovely customer some rings in her size when she came to visit me @findcollective in Hobart and this is the one she chose although it was a difficult decision. This is the one I loved instantly on her hands! The two band one is available @theempressandwolf you can find it on their website and is also set with Australian gemstones White Topaz and pale pink Zircon. I try to always make the curves in the band to feel really comfortable on the finger.

07.01.2022 A little treasure for your weekend! Its a lovely bright Killiecrankie Diamond which as you may already know is Topaz from Flinders Island Tasmania. Another tiny size, K3/4 to L. Dont ever listen to anyone who says dainty fingers shouldnt wear chunky rings This is chunky but not over the top. Its well balanced. It is all silver with a little touch rose with the gold ball either side. I have oxidised this one which gives depth and character. Some will wear off over time leaving the deeper areas with the lovely gun metal grey contrast against the bright white metal. Enjoy!

06.01.2022 A mixture of silver and wood dust. This ring Im making takes a lot of hand filing to shape it up. I hold the piece against my wooden peg to keep a firm grip, thats where the wood dust comes from. Im sure I have silver and gold under my skin from saw cuts and drill holes etc when Im working on precious metal. All this dust gets saved for refining......Im not sure Ill ever get around to refining my scraps and I have 27 years worth I have collected. Maybe my daughter can cash it on oneday .......my scraps that it, not me although apparently I can get made into a diamond

This amazing Killiecrankie Topaz is the sort of blue that I love so much and is getting harder and harder to come across! Blues are rarer than whites but most of my blues from the Killiecrankie region only have a faint tinge of blue. This shape, this long teardrop is also not your everyday cut. Lucky to get a couple of different sizes in this long shape recently. Rose Gold and Sterling Silver with my full set of hallmarks

04.01.2022 Good Morning! I’m not at @findcollective today but the shop is open and we have lots to see! Everyone has been busy and there are lots of new pieces appearing in our cabinets! There’s 10 different makers so there’s something for everyone! We also have Layby and gift vouchers. This is one of my latest pieces. Ice blue Killiecrankie Diamond, as some of you may know it is Topaz found on Flinders Island Tasmania. Tassie has a lot of amazing topaz but these ones are found around the Mt Killiecrankie and Killiecrankie Bay Area. I was lucky to visit and it’s a magical place! You can feel it in these gems The ice blues go so nice with Rose Gold and Silver!
03.01.2022 Solid Semi Black Opal from Turners Rush Lightening Ridge Australia. What an amazing piece to work with! This was one of my final custom orders from last year before I started my long break from customer orders. It was such a nice piece to finish up with! The opal has broad flashes of colour on all different angles. It was very hard to capture so I took what seemed like millions of shots. I think thats why it took me soooo long to put this post up! I still dont think these photos do it justice. I hope this piece brings its wearer so much joy. After sitting in its box as a gift for a long time it can finally be admired on her hand. 02.01.2022 There is a little story behind these two lovely natural blue Topaz Rings! Last year I had had to make the not so easy decision to stop taking customs at a point where I was getting very close to having a major burn out. I work 2.5 jobs so I was pretty time poor, working lots of nights to try to keep up, was highly stressed at the time and life was getting busier by the second. I found I just couldnt cope and very hesitantly had to explain to my two final customers that I had... to wind up earlier than I hoped to. It was very hard!! Im so thankful and appreciative of the kind words and understanding from both of them! One lady had a beautiful stone she wanted me to set to go with other jewellery I had made her. And a lovely friend loved some of my pale blue stones for a ring. She had shown me some of my rings she liked and I knew her finger size so I told her I would be thinking of her and that I would eventually make something in her size for her to see first. She fell in love with the beautiful round Queensland Blue Topaz it has the most beautiful facets that remind me of an antique diamond! Its called Flower Cut. She told me of the special meaning and connection with this one which makes it even more special! This is one of the biggest reasons I create! I put my whole heart into each piece and its the connection between my work and its wearer and the new meaning and stories they add to that piece! That is so awesome beyond words to me! 01.01.2022 Ive been meaning to show you this one for sooooooo long! This stunning Topaz is such a beautiful long teardrop shape! A shape I rarely see. I dont know the origin of this stone but its new home is Canada I made this one with my client in mind for her to see on her Tassie holiday visiting family at the start of this year. Unfortunately her visit was postponed so her family planned to take the ring on their trip to see her. Then corona came and changed all of our plans and we all ended up in lockdown! The lovely Tasmanian family became the caretakers of the ring until it seemed safe enough to post. Finally after this whirlwind of circumstances this special ring made it all the way to Canada and has been adorning the hand of its loving owner
