25.01.2022 I saw this quote and it made me giggle. Pilates exercises really do know how to activate a deep deep burn in those glutes! Having strong glutes will not only improve your posture, it will also support a strong core and an improvement in one’s body balance. When was the last time you did a glutes focused pilates session?... Quote credit: @pilatesqueennyc
24.01.2022 SLOWING DOWN... . . . Quite often in life, we are so busy getting from A- B that we forget to pause. Yet moments when we are forced to stop, especially during stressful moments, we tend to gain added aggravation towards a situation. ... Instead of finding these moments to be a dreaded throughout the day, lets consistently try to focus on this things we CAN control. This will allow us to move our minds to a sense of tranquility and see these pauses as an opportunity for self development. For example; If you have stopped at a red light, why not think of this as an opportunity to work on your pelvic floor. (Simple lift and hold for 10 seconds and release for 10 seconds. Repeat until the light is green!) If you’re watching TV and the ads come on, try and use this as an opportunity to do some stretching for the day or challenge yourself- see if you can hold a plank for the duration of the ads! There are many things we can do to improve our mindset throughout every day. Try your best to always see this ‘inconvenient’ moments in life as an opportunity to work on yourself and your well-being. Let me know what tricks you do...

16.01.2022 FINDING YOUR BALANCE... . . For majority of my clients, the first most noticeable change within themselves is their sense of balance. .... . Balance, also known as our sixth sense refers to the strength without our core allowing us to stand a little straighter, move a little easier and bend a little further. . . Finding balance within pilates exercises can be especially tricky for beginners as there are multiple things to focus on at any given moment. . . The key is to breathe. Find your breath and work with it. Inhale when the exercise is easy, and exhale when it seems hard. This can be a manipulated formula for every movement and will help support your body to perform all while ensuring your balance is keeping you safe. . . 11.01.2022 GOAL SETTING... I like to encourage my clients to set goals and work constantly to reach them. Some of my clients are wanting to do the spilts or touch their toes. Others are wanting to strengthen their pelvic floor and help their body recover post pregnancy. ... My goal was to have 20 clients sign up to pilates classes by the end of October. Mid November and I can so gratefully say I have had 50+ people agree to change their life for the better. No matter what your goal is, try and work on it every day for 5-10 minutes. The key to goal reaching is consistency. Always think of the end result and how grateful and excited you will be to reach it. What is the next goal you want to achieve?
11.01.2022 LETS TALK CORE STRENGTH . . . Core strength is not about having a flat belly or a chiseled six pack. ... Core strength is the combination of muscles around the midline including, but not limited to, the rectus and transverse abdominals, obliques, sacrospinalis and glutes. These muscles all work in conjunction to stabilise the pelvis and control the spine. This in-turn will improve ones balance and posture. Having a strong core will prevent common injuries such as back pain and can improve brainpower in the long term. Stay alert for a core workout coming up in the next few days!!

09.01.2022 FINDING YOUR BREATH... During pilates exercises you often will get caught up in all the nitty gritty instructions e.g long neck, shoulders back, eyes up, pointed toes, pelvic tucked in... oh the list goes on and on. It’s quite common to either hold your breath or forget how to breath normally. Remember this rule of thumb: ... ALWAYS INALE WHEN IT IS EASY AND EXHALE WHEN IT IS HARD... This will ensure that the deep core muscles are activated and properly contracting to protect your back with each movement. Once you are in a position, try to slow everything down to catch your breath before you dive deep into executing the movement. I find pilates 100s the best exercise to practice breathing techniques! What is your favourite pilates exercise?

05.01.2022 Pilates on the SKYWALK glass platform! Thank you Sydney Tower Eye
05.01.2022 I often like to bring my clients a little ‘gift’ for their class... Sometimes it’s a weight, or ball and other times it’s a resistance band or slider. Either way - these little props can create a range of different movements to help activate muscles you might not know you have leaving you feeling extra sore (or should I say strong...) the next day. Do you add props to your workout?
03.01.2022 FOCUS... No matter what you do within your day, having the ability to focus, to truly let go of everything in your mind and focus on one single thing, is an absolute challenge in itself. Being able to focus allows our body to settle and our mind to reduce stress which in turn will boost our self-development and communication. ... My personal technique which I use to help create focus is through creating a list with a designated time limit and ticking off my tasks. This helps me focus as I am breaking up the time and minimising opportunities of procrastination. What skills do you use to help improve your focus?

01.01.2022 AHAAHAHHA I couldn’t agree with this more!! One thing my clients often say is how simple all the exercises look... yet it absolutely BURNS!! I guess you could say I have an appropriate last name...
01.01.2022 Anyone who knows me knows that I really can’t sit still. I am always working, starting a new project or studying a new course. I love learning about things that ignite a spark in me. I have been working since the young age of 13 and spent my first 5 years in a pizza shop down on the South Coast. Making pizzas with your best friends is the best way to enter the work place. This job taught me to always ENJOY what I do and to have fun while doing it. As well as the pizza shop,... I was also working at the most beautiful skin care shop @whiteearth in Huskisson. This is where I grew my passion for helping people improve their confidence through their own skin. After moving to the city in 2017, @sydneytowereye is where I spend the next 2 years. This job challenged me beyond my limits and made me grow both within and outside of my comfort zone and taught me how to truly connect with someone, even if we don’t speak the same language! Combining all these skills and becoming a pilates instructor has helped me further develop my love of people and my passion for enjoying the job I do. What was your first job? I would love to know...
