25.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW? Rabbits have a total of 28 teeth: 4 incisors (those are the big choppers up front; what you picture when you think of 'bunny teeth'). There ar...e 2 of those on the top and 2 on the bottom. These are the teeth they use to chunk off mouthfuls of food...or to bite through phone cables! Right behind the top incisor teeth are 2 small peg-like teeth called auxiliary incisors or (duh) 'peg teeth'. They also help with severing things, especially if it's something tough that needs more than just a quick snip. They also have 6 upper and 4 lower premolars, then 6 molars up top and 6 more molars down below. Collectively, these 22 teeth further back in their cheeks are known as (more duh) 'cheek teeth'. Just as with our own premolars and molars, they're used to grind food, readying it to be swallowed and digested. Unlike us, however, rabbits have teeth that never stop growing, so it's not just that they *like* to bite and chew though they do but it's actually a necessity for them. They MUST continually wear down their teeth or, trust us, there will be much dental badness and huge vet bills! You can help your bunny care for their teeth by feeding the roughest cut hay they're willing to eat (1st cut takes the most biting and cutting work, 3rd cut is the softest and often suggested for old rabbits or ones who already have tooth trouble of one kind or another; 2nd cut is in between) and providing lots of tempting chew toys. Properly maintained, all those teeth are SHARP! Every time we get a glimpse of them, we can't help thinking, "Boy, it's a really good thing they like us!" #adoptdontshop #rescuerabbit #bunny #rabbitsofinstagram PLEASE DONATE: PayPal.me/Bunanza

25.01.2022 Bunny safe plants

25.01.2022 Pellets such as Country Vital rabbit pellets aide in gut digestion though pellets are supposed to only constitute 10% of a rabbits daily diet with hay forming 80% and greens such as approved veggies and grasses and weeds forming the other 10%. We actually don’t follow this ratio feeding a lot more pellets maybe 60/35% hay/pellets with 5% grasses, veggies..

09.01.2022 This breeder and nor any breeder I know, recommend these cages. Any cage must be at least 120cm+ long x 60cm+ high x 60cm + wide with regular time out for exercise.

07.01.2022 The joy and companionship bunnies bring especially to children. My daughter with some of the bunnies we have bred over the last 9 years. The orange boy we didn’t.

07.01.2022 The much hoped for RHDV2 Calci virus still has not happened. Please over the warmer months practice good bio security to keep your bunnies safe. Here are some things you can do. I would add wash hands before touching your bunnies especially when you have been out. Use F10 as mentioned or Virkon disinfectants bought online or from pet supplies mixed with water in cheap spray bottles to spray outside cages, clean food and water containers.

02.01.2022 In Sydney we have had a lovely mild spring but summer is not far away. Bunnies can die very quickly in the heat. If you can’t bring them into air conditioning, here are some things you can do.
