25.01.2022 So excited. Only 4 sleeps left, then off to Influence Live in Phuket. In my 30s I undertook a business degree thinking that would teach me how to do business.... Well, I am grateful, however that was just the beginning of an amazing journey. Now at last, in my 50s, I am doing it. That is, business activity that can make a difference. My income, super and the current employment opportunities would not cut it. This will. Travel, high earning potential, great training and development but most of all, an opportunity to make a difference. I would not change too much, family, knowledge, sobriety, fitness. Its all part of the incredible journey on offer. I am privileged and grateful that I have stayed around long enough for the magic to happen. 17.01.2022 It is very rewarding and reassuring to be part of a company and a business that has a commitment to absolute integrity. I had an experience one day that concreted the practice of integrity firmly in my mind and life. But long before this, the integrity seed was planted for me when I realised that an electrical business I knew of had a slogan, 'people of integrity'. I checked out the meaning of that word and I was hooked. Of course that doesn't mean that I bcame a person o...f integrity from then on. Unfortunately it has been slow progress for me. By the way, the man who owned the business I referred to, later became a Mayor of the town where he lived and remained a man ot integrity throughout to this day. Anyway, my lifechanging experience occured in Brisbane a few years ago. I flew into town to attend a three day conference and took a taxi into the city. During the journey I recall having a good conversation with the driver, a very proud and interesting man. As we arrived at the venue the driver simply asked the question, 'when does the conference finish'. I told him the day and time. It was right then that he said the magic words that I will never forget. Words and a conviction that portray the first aspect of integrity. He said, 'I will be here or I wll be dead'. I attended the conference and never gave the statement another thought for a few days. The second aspect of integrity became clear and absolutely astounded me when I walked out of the conference and there he was, my taxi driver. To me thats it, integrity, something I aspire to everday. I want to surround myself with people like my taxi driver. People that not only say what they will do but people that do it no matter what.
