24.01.2022 Ophelia of Lake Daylesford I've come to see that art (and probably lots of other things) is a lovely blender-y mash up of all your interests, experiences, inspirations, fears and dreams. . Combining my love of Shakespeare with the haunting beauty of the lake. I really, really love Lake Daylesford. Inspired also by the pre-Raphelite paintings of Ophelia, particularly by John Everett Millais and a bit by the series 'the Gloaming.' And the colour pallet a little inspired by the... series, "Stranger things' . When down her weedy trophies and herself Fell in the weeping brook. Her clothes spread wide; And, mermaid-like, awhile they bore her up: Which time she chanted snatches of old tunes; As one incapable of her own distress, Or like a creature native and indued Unto that element: but long it could not be Till that her garments, heavy with their drink, Pull’d the poor wretch from her melodious lay To muddy death." (Ophelia) William Shakespeare, Hamlet

19.01.2022 My lovely neighbour Sarah (Art on View ) stuck her head in today to take some sneaky footage of me prancing about in costume/character, taking some photos to hopefully finish some more Bendigo pictures. That dress is the most beautiful green : ‘twas an op shop score from 2 years ago and it’s finally seeing its day

19.01.2022 'Out of Time' Inspired by Covid, Global warming - the hard things we've had to live with, think about in recent years - I've been imagining our town with no people. What happens after we're gone... I've peppered this piece with little messages and symbols....including the comeback of the platypus that used to live in the Bendigo creek but was sadly driven out with human occupation. It's a little bit dark, sunny, hopeful and dystopian. In any case, I hope you enjoy seeing our beautiful Capital Theatre in a slightly different light. It's a building that always makes my heart skip a beat x

14.01.2022 Garden Harvest - all the delicious textures, tastes and smells from the Winter garden. Including lots of the friendly bees that have been buzzing around lately, and an adorable fairy-wren. Looking forward to Spring tomorrow. I know we're supposed to make our own weather, but gee the recent sunshine has added some much needed cheer to some recent darker months. Cheers to the last day of Winter x

13.01.2022 Some finishing touches on my studio/gallery in View st. Thanks to Nick (Truscott Framing and Gallery) for the craftsmanship that went into framing my big prints. 08.01.2022 Wise words (Hannibal Lecter in Red Dragon) .... so true when I think of the years scared of the witch in my wardrobe , the gremlins under my bed, I remember not being able to walk through a door way because the lady sphinxes from the Never ending Story would burn me to toast. Vivid imagination but impossible to turn off. Anyone relate?

03.01.2022 @truscottartandframing producing the goods. We wanted to experiment with my old world prints carrying off a more modern Tassie oak frame, and they look lovely!
