05.01.2022 Usually the New Year is a time of celebration, but this year is different. Our beautiful country, the very best country in the world, is on fire . The devastation the fires have caused is huge - precious human life, environmental life & our wildlife. There are just so many levels of devastation. . Today we as a business have re-opened for 2020! How lucky are we, that we are able to do that? ... . It truly hits home that we as a team are so lucky to be able to go to work and that we have a workplace to go to. . There are so many people right now that are not able to do this due to various reasons relating to the bushfires - physical loss of business (affecting both business owners and all employees), inability to safely attend to work, those magical volunteers spending hours on end assisting in this tragic event and then there are the people who have so bravely decided to face the fierce front of fire to defend their own homes/businesses. . Summer is the peak season for so many of the coastal communities devastated by fire. So even for those that can still physically attend work, the tourist income has gone for the 2019/20 Summer period. . When things settle for these beautiful communities lets show some true Aussie spirit and get behind them in their time of need. . We would like to thank all the amazing firefighters and volunteers involved in this disaster. The work you are doing is incredible and we are just so grateful. . After starting our collection box during the year we were able to donate 78 pairs of shoes to those in need. 60 pair locally and 18 pair to Katherine in the NT.
