09.01.2022 ONLINE & HYBRID RAFFLES @ LUSC. Thank you everyone for your feedback regarding the Spring has Sprung raffle. On the night of the raffle concerns were raised that there may be an error; this was acknowledged but unfortunately we were unable to stop the raffle at the time without causing great disruption. Following the raffle we worked with our provider to investigate and regrettably it has now been confirmed that an error had occurred. Some tickets purchased from a previous r...affle remained in the system and merged with this raffle. We apologise for this error and have been assured by our supplier that this was a one-off incident and that the issue has now been rectified. We understand that online participants do not attend the club for the raffles to make purchases, however our commitment is and always has been to our local community. Hybrid raffles allow us to look after our most vulnerable members, reducing feelings of isolation while also providing entertainment for those who can attend, without having to limit participation due to social distancing and venue limits due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The popularity of the online and hybrid raffles have been overwhelming with ticket sales exceeding in house tickets purchased. Many of the raffle attendees also choose to purchase tickets online as well as within the Club. We would also like to clarify that it is for security reasons all raffle prizes are checked off upon collection through either member card, photo ID and to a lesser extent data obtained through online purchases. Plus in order to offer choice and record prize selection, our winners lists displayed on Facebook, at Club reception and emailed to participants are often in category or alphabetical order and is not in the order of winners drawn. While there are still concerns regarding Covid-19 capacity restrictions and after much consideration, we have decided to host our upcoming Toy Raffle in-house and tickets will only be available on the night. We would like to thank everyone who has participated in our online raffles, your support has been amazing and greatly appreciated; you have made conducting our major raffles possible and we hope you have enjoyed them as much as we have. Rest assured we will be looking into more online raffles in the future so stay tuned. In the meantime our Thursday Monster Market Raffle will continue.
