16.01.2022 Disgusted by Windows 8 Metro Design? Fear not, for those who have made the transition to windows 8 feeling let down by the drastic changes implemented by Microsoft, Dont panic as there is light at the end of the tunnel. Many have resorted to downgrading to Windows 7 for something more familiar, However there are tools available that can give you back the Start Button that you dearly miss saving the need for a full downgrade.... 1. "Classic Shell" not only gives you the start button but you also get the option to choose from different styles ranging from Classic to Windows XP to Windows 7. There is a bit of tweaking required to make it almost identical but essentially installing the software will make it instantly all the familiar. This product is FREE and can be downloaded from the classic shell website www.classicshell.net 2. "Start8" has a slightly different approach in that you will be able to use the start menu as you did with Windows 7 except that the look and feel is designed to work in with the look of Windows 8. There are more feature that integrate with windows 8 but you still get the convenient access to your folder structure as once before. You can have the Metro screen in your start menu open in 4 different sizes to best suit your needs making it easy to navigate around windows 8. Start8 will cost you $4.99 and can be purchased from the Stardock website http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/download.asp 3. "Pokki Windows 8 Start menu" Is a very neat looking version of the windows start menu. It also has many inbuilt features connecting it to the pokki app store allowing for access to many apps similar to those of mobile handsets. With funky integration to Facebook, Twitter and Gmail it also allows you to communicate outside of the browser. The product is Free and is downloadable here http://www.pokki.com/windows-8-start-menu As of 27 April 2013 its rumoured that Microsofts next update for Windows 8 will indeed include the start menu in some shape or form.

13.01.2022 Every Cent earned this Friday 31/8/12 through Laurimar IT will be dedicated to a lovely lady by the name of Michelle Lachmund in support of her and her young family. Having recently found out that she has a terminal case of Metastatic Melanoma I personally cannot imagine the pain her family are going through. We can only hope that with the time they have left together that they fulfill their dreams and have a chance to say their goodbyes. Michelle is a caring women having wo...rked as a nurse in North Melbournes hospitals forced to quit because of the sudden news. With all the worries that the Lachmund family have the last thing they need to be concerned about is whether or not they can pay the mortgage or bring food to the table let alone paying for all the medication thats required to help through this difficult time. So instead of billing our clients we ask that they donate what they feel fit for the services we provide. If you can only afford $30 then thats great if you can afford more then fantastic. Just know that your money is going to a good cause and every cent counts. 12.01.2022 Laurimar I.T would like to thank the residents of Doreen & surrounds who participated in our fundraising day to raise much needed funds for the Michelle Lachmund Appeal. It was a privilege to meet those of you who kindly donated. We raised $510, of which we should all be proud to put towards such a good cause. An additional special thank you to Matthew Leeson and Dennis & Patricia Dearsley for their donations which were independent of our services. Its fantastic news that th...e Gala night has completely sold out and we are really looking forward to the big night tomorrow thanks again everyone for your generosity. Regards Sam

07.01.2022 iPhone, iPod & iPad Forgotten Passwords The Solution to this problem only works if you have a backup that you are willing to restore from. The instructions below will guide you through the steps to restore from an iTunes backup.... Make sure the Apple device is connected to your computer via the white USB cable and open the iTunes program Begin with the device turned on, Now hold down the ON/OFF button and the Home Button at the same time for about 30 seconds. Ignore the Turn Off Menu when it appears. Continue holding down the buttons. If done correctly the device will power off, the apple logo will then appear and eventually you will see the Connect to iTunes image. When you see the iTunes image you can let go of the ON/OFF & Home Buttons iTunes will detect that you have plugged in a device in recovery mode and tell you that you must restore the device before you can continue to use it. Its important to know that before you continue the apple device will be wiped clean including the forgotten password. You must have a backup in iTunes that the device can restore from for the procedure to work otherwise resetting it to factory defaults is the only way to get your device functioning again. It deletes everything because the passcode is designed to protect the owners privacy. Thus, deleting everything is the only way to reset it. Click on restore in iTunes, this will take the apple device to factory settings, once finished you can either Sync with iTunes or restore from backup to restore your files and applications. You will no longer be prompted for the password but you can re-enter a new one should you choose.
