11.01.2022 Closed Mixed Foursomes sponsored by Lavarack Juniors Was a lovely day out on the course, the course was in fantastic nick, slight breeze on the back 9 but nothing like last week end. We had 48 players, 24 mixed teams - an awesome turnout for this years competition. There were some really good scores and some very average ones, as you would expect in this format of golf. I am pleased to say no divorces/breakups have come out of today's play.... It was closely contested, our new Mixed Foursomes champions are Emma and Robert Perkins with a score of 122, followed by Kaye Griffiths and Simon Lamont with 123. Congratulations to Emma and Rob (Rob will tell you he carried Emma all day, but lucky for him Emma sunk the putt on the last hole). Our Nett winners are Jan Nuttall and Peter Mongomery, nett runners up are Bev Cockburn and John Cornish. 07.01.2022 Royal Wolf Day - 2 person ambrose A lovely day on the course, really starting to warm up just in time for next weekend's Men's Closed championships. But turning back to yesterday's event, with 92 persons (46 teams) trying to take out this years title of Royal Wolf winners. With many teams coming in with mediocre scores, there are a couple of teams that stood tall.... Paul Duggan and Kenneth Roberts with a 63 off the stick and Nett 58.25 taking the bragging rights at the end of the day. Bridesmaids again are Ralph Kay and John Cornish with a Nett 60 and 3rd place went to Marko Benazic and Mark Ryan with a 61 Nett. Sadly Royal Wolf members were not able to hand out the prizes today - but we will see them at next years annual event.
