19.01.2022 Just got a donation dollar in my coffee change!! I’ll be giving this (and a few more gold ones) to the awesome team @rizeupanz to assist in making a difference to those experiencing or fleeing domestic and family violence this Christmas ..... and every day of the year. Can you spare a donation dollar today? Tag me and your chosen charity in your post so I can share their stories and lets bring awareness to all those out there, doing all they can, to help our fellow vulnerable aussies. #rizeup #dvprevention #christmas #charity #help #donationdollar

18.01.2022 This morning I visited my friends at @harmony_greenslopes for the last time this year. Every month I look after some of my littlest clients by visiting and cutting hair on site. It’s always a barrel of laughs and just another way we try to ease the pressure off the weekend ‘to-do’ list for busy parents. I look forward to continuing to visit in 2021 and wish all the children, educators and families at Harmony a very joyous and safe holiday season. Ruby - 4yrs

10.01.2022 One for the curls I was stopped in the shops last week by a lady who was so personable. She had a contagious positive energy about her. She said to me ‘Your curls are amazing. I love them!’. This lady had bob length hair with a little wave to it and plenty there. She said she had always wished for a ‘mop of curls’. When I said thank you and started a conversation back with her she went on to tell me how she sees them. ‘They (curls) are so powerful. So authentic. They ha...ve a personality and an energy about them. I just think they are so enviable’ I was so intrigued by this conversation and I thanked her so much for stopping me and talking to me about it. She went on to tell me about significant roll models in her life that had been ‘blessed by the curl gods’. A beautiful walk down memory lane for her and an insight for me into why she was so drawn to my head of tousled twirls. In salon, we have conversations daily about curls. About their uniqueness and how to manage them. This interaction got me thinking about how we give compliments to those around us. What words we use and how we can better impact our friends, family and strangers by simply choosing a different descriptor. I definitely would have appreciated a ‘your curls are so beautiful’ compliment but I’ll certainly never forget one that included ‘they are so powerful, so authentic and so enviable’. My challenge for us all is to see how we can up our game when complimenting so that the genuine intention behind that compliment sticks long after the day it was given....... and it’s easy enough to do. We just have to exercise our vocabularies
