20.01.2022 Another incredible result and very happy baby, after, you guessed it, dermaviduals and a corneotherapist to make the right decisions! Namely, Olivia Lefoe at... Wodonga Beauty Room At 2.5 months old, my son Vinnie was struck down with chronic Eczema. His skin was very red, raw and sore. It broke my heart! He would often cry because of the pain all over his body. We started by adding Cleansing milk into his baths (which were previously just water) in tepid water. We applied the Oleogel K straight after his bath and first thing in the mornings, sometimes midday if it was really bad. 1 week later we started to see improvements in Vinnies skin. The redness had subsided and we were able to now incorporate Novrithen to give him extra lipids and help with the dry phase of eczema. Vinnie experienced a lot of discomfort during through this dry stage, as it was itching him and being only 2.5 months old, he was unable to itch himself... How awful that would be! Novrithen gave him instant relief as well Keeping on the Oleogel K and cleansing milk baths to keep his skin moist. Still to this day, Vinnie is 14 months old and we still give him cleansing milk baths and apply Oleogel K of the night time. We have since seen out naturopath and taken him off dairy. His eczema is under control.

03.01.2022 Louder for the people who think SPF in their foundation is enough protection

01.01.2022 Something I see a lot of in clinic, particularly when a new client comes to me for consultation and they're concerned with uneven skin texture and "dryness", is... the misconception that they need to exfoliate the skin. That somehow miraclously under all the dry flakes and bumps, they'll reveal their perfect skin thats been hiding underneath. However the skin isn't a piece of dead wood. Simply 'sanding' it down won't fix the issue. Sure, you get a temporary improvement. The skin looks glowy and feels smoother for a while but the effects don't last. So you hit it with another blow of exfoliation and it becomes a perpetual cycle. Some even make the mistake of thinking "well if a little exfoliation didn't work, maybe I need to go stronger" and the cycle continues. On occasion a little exfoliation, maybe a mild enzyme or AHA, can work wonders to help move along cellular buildup when the skins looking a bit dull BUT if you're trying to address ongoing textural problems, something else deeper within the skin has gone wrong where the keratinocyte (main epidermal cell) hasn't matured into a strong and resilient corneocyte (keratinised cell that makes up the outer layer, the stratum cornuem). Leading to poor corneocyte compaction, compromised barrier and increased TEWL. This could be due to a number of reasons including mis-product usage and ironically with over-exfoliation being one of the main culprits. So the very problem you're trying to fix with exfoliation, may have actually be caused by exfoliating too much to begij with! Dietary deficiencies including calcium and / or essential fatty acid deficiency may also play a part. As well as some medicines, stress and environmental issues. Going back to the dead wood anaolgy, instead of 'sanding down' the skin, the focus should always be on 'building up' the skin. Repairing the skin barrier is always the primary focus, treating the skin before the symptoms "SEAL BEFORE YOU HEAL". Once the skin is functioning correctly the texture and flakiness should resolve itself.
