25.01.2022 Now that the weather has (finally!) started to cool down, I’ll be getting out into the learning space to start setting up for the first enrichment playgroup ses...sion! Fingers crossed I have worked out how to take bookings with my new appointment app. Ten spaces have been made available in my Lavender Lane class. If you’re keen, please sign up and register for the first class on Tuesday 23 April at 9:15 am!

23.01.2022 Final session times are being locked in this weekend. Thank you to everyone who has already booked a time. You’ll see that I’ve changed my business name! Along with reducing my university tuition services, I also decided not to offer organisational development services because my focus is on working with children and young people. Unfortunately ‘Lifelong Learning’ without the ‘Development’ part is already used by my local library service (complete with a tree logo, haha!), so I’ve had to make a complete change. Lavender Learning will have a greater focus on resource development and the location for the revamped early enrichment programs will be known as Lavender Lane. Other than that, it’s business as usual.

05.01.2022 Spacing study and revision is important. This is why I suggest that students do their revision work over a few sittings rather than just the night before a session. This is also why we revise work from previous sessions from time to time. I don’t normally do hashtags but I’m thinking I should start! #learninghowtolearn #metacognition

02.01.2022 Chatting to some teachers and parents this week, this idea came up. It’s a form to give to parents at the start of the year which will let you know what your students are doing outside school hours. Many students are budding musicians or sportspeople, or help out in their community. This form will help you find out! Something to add to your start-of-school toolkit.
