21.01.2022 From Thursday 6 August, only vulnerable children and the children of permitted workers can access onsite education and care. A permitted worker can include ...someone working from home. This doesnt apply to every worker working from home only those working in permitted industries. Permitted workers are able to access onsite education and care if there is no one else in their household who is able to supervise their child. For example, a permitted worker in a single-parent household may access education and care. If there is another carer in their household, permitted workers can still access onsite education and care if that person cant supervise the child. Reasons could include the other carer working from home in a role that means they cannot supervise the child (resulting in the permitted worker not being able to do their job), the other carer completing full-time study that must be attended onsite, the other carer having a disability, or the other carer having a medical condition or chronic illness which prevents them from caring for the child. Both carers do not have to be permitted workers to access onsite education and care, but families are being asked to only access services if they have to. In line with the above, permitted workers are also able to continue with pre-existing in-home care arrangements if there is no one else in their household who is able to supervise their child. Grandparents and elderly relatives play an important role in caring for children but may be particularly vulnerable to coronavirus. The Victorian government strongly advises these types of care arrangements are avoided where possible. 16.01.2022 Today's announcement of the extension of Stage 4 in Melbourne means that education and care services will continue to operate only for those families who hold a... permit until 28th September. We anticipate that the Commonwealth will make an announcement shortly extending the transition payments to further support services. We will keep you posted as soon as we hear more.

12.01.2022 I'm confident our community will be stronger on the other side of COVID because of people like Michael Perner. I spoke to him just before we entered stage 4 an...d he was already prepared for what was announced a few days later. Michael is helping to keep our community going, leading a dedicated team of workers and volunteers at Laverton Community Integrated Services Inc. TOID: 6408 Partnering up with the legends at Birdcage Altona Cafe and Foodbank Victoria the team is delivering much needed meals and support to those who need it the most. Hope you get something out of our chat and, for those who are in a position to do so, you can donate to Laverton Community Integrated Services here: https://lcis.org.au/.

06.01.2022 Get the kids ready playgrounds will begin to reopen from Monday! Hold tight, it might take us a couple of days to get them all open and ready to go. Just a fr...iendly reminder before you head back to your local playground: - Wear a mask or face covering (kids under 12 are exempt) - Maintain at least 1.5 metres from yourself and others at all times - Carry hand sanitiser with you - If youre unwell, stay at home! While youre out at your local playground, you might notice the grass is a bit longer than usual. Were onto it stage four has limited our movements too, so its taking a little longer to get it maintained. Stay safe, Wyndham!

02.01.2022 We're asking people to stay home and save lives. But for some Victorians, home is the most dangerous place to be. Today we announced the expansion of the Orange... Door Network across the state. Five new hubs where Victorians who need support, can turn to and feel safe. A place that can change lives, and most importantly - save lives. My message to every Victorian is that help is there if you need it. There is never an excuse for violence. And fleeing family violence is always a reason to leave home - restrictions or not. If you see or hear someone being hurt or intimidated, call 000. Share these numbers with the people around you. And remember that family violence isn't always physical. You never know who might need help.
