15.01.2022 To all Laverton Swimming Club members. The Committee and coaches at Laverton Swimming club want to keep you informed regarding COVID-19 and what impact this will have on our club moving forward. We wish to assure you that both the Committee and Head Coach are committed to the long term viability of our Club. The Club is in a strong position both financially and administratively, and will remain strong throughout this storm, coming back refreshed, refocused and stronger as a ...Club and individuals. In the mean time we want you to know that we are working on ways to keep connected, fit and healthy, both physically and mentally. There will be outdoor dry land programs adhering to social distancing and health department recommendations. However, in these unprecedented times where changes are happening every hour, we will keep you updated and informed. In the event we are forced to self-isolate, we are also preparing an "At home" program that swimmers can complete, this will be conducted in many forms for all age groups/squads. Please keep in touch with your Coach and know that they are still available to support, advise and assist. Please keep in contact with the Club through our Facebook and Instagram pages and check your emails for new and exciting information. We are also working and thinking of some novel ways in keeping all our Club Members/Kids connected throughout this time, this will manifest in many forms as well, which will include receiving prizes and more. STAY TUNED !!! The Laverton Swimming Club is not just a swimming club, it prides itself as a COMMUNITY CLUB. Therefore, if you require assistance, help, support in these unforeseen times, whether you are a Laverton Swimming Club Member OR just a Community MEMBER let us know so we can reach out and help each other where ever we can. 10.01.2022 THE VERY BEST COACH The very BEST coach I ever had BELIEVED in ME, He encouraged me to BELIEVE in MYSELF and DREAM! He REFUSED to let me get away with a MEDIOCRE effort,... He CHALLENGED me to push beyond my limits, He CELEBRATED my successes, leading me to feel I had earned them, He helped me learn and GROW FROM MY FAILURES, He reassured me that I couldn't learn and get better without collecting enough of them! He TRUSTED me to TRUST MYSELF, He RESPECTED & CARED about me as a person beyond my sport, He "WALKED THE TALK" and modeled all that he taught me, He was HONEST and TRUSTWORTHY, He made me feel SAFE around him, He kept what we were doing IN PERSPECTIVE, He was consistently FAIR, His only "favorites" where those athletes who consistently showed up, worked hard, had a positive attitude and were team players. THE VERY BEST COACH I EVER HAD MADE ME A BETTER MAN, FATHER, HUSBAND AND THE TEACHER THAT I AM TODAY! Way back then, he knew there were far more important things at stake than winning or losing a game!

It is important that whilst your children are on school holidays they will need remain at home, unfortunately these are unprecedented times, therefore school holidays will be different this time around. It is important that children remain at home to minimize the risk of infection. These measures although harsh, unfortunately necessary to keep our most vuln...erable community members safe and well. It is our duty to respect the lives of others, as it is our duty to help and reach out to those in need of help, most important looking after the mental health of all concerned. To the Laverton members and wider Community Health Care workers and Teachers. A MASSIVE THANK YOU STAY SAFE AND WELL. The Laverton Committee. See more

06.01.2022 On the 11th of February, 2018, the Laverton Swimming Club made their way down, bright and early, to the Indented Head beach on the Bellarine Peninsula. However, it wasn't just any other day ... today was the annual Jack Rabbit Wreck 2 Reef Open Water Swimming Competition. With the events of the day being the 300m Dash and Dig, 500m Novice, 1.2km race and the new 2.5km added to the 2018 program, Laverton swimmers were scattered all over the course with big smiles on their fa...ces. The Jack Rabbit Wreck 2 Reef is one of the best experiences for our growing club and it is an event we continue to do every year, both as a fun competition but also as a team bonding activity. #JackRabbitWreck2Reef2018
