23.01.2022 School’s out, so we are now open daily! Please check our website for all skate session times: http://lavertonskatecentre.com.au/skate-sessions/

22.01.2022 To our wonderful staff, skaters, customers and families of Laverton Skate Centre, we do miss you and hope all are well. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our centre has been in a strict government enforced hibernation (indoor sports centre) since March 23rd and we were looking forward to potential for a return to restricted trading. Restrictions in Victoria were looking to be eased from Monday 22nd June, however with the concerning rise in new Victorian cases, we have decided it ...best to err on the side of caution. We are very much a community focused business and will continue to evaluate the situation on a week by week basis. Despite significant collateral effects endured by our closure, we strongly believe it to be in the best community interest for Laverton Skate Centre to remain closed while this new situation unfolds. Our duty of care extends to all who enter our centre; be they staff, customers or stakeholders; and while we have gone above and beyond to adhere to all safety guidelines during the pandemic, we do not want to risk exacerbating this developing situation from a community health and safety standpoint. We thank you all for your support and look forward to our doors opening again sometime soon. Thanks, take care and stay safe. Laverton Skate Centre

19.01.2022 Hi all, Laverton Skate Centre will be closed today, Sunday January 26th and also tomorrow Monday January 27th. We would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we operate the centre and pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and the Aboriginal Elders of other communities in our area. With school starting in a few days time, we now revert to school term hours, opening again from 6:30pm on Friday 31st January. Thanks to all who have joined us during the January holidays, all the best for back to school this coming week!

12.01.2022 Hi all, for today’s public holiday we have 2 sessions, commencing at 10:30am and 6:30pm. We kindly request early arrival please as low attendance may result in the session concluding early (as early as 1:30pm or 9:30pm) due to the high operational cost of wages incurred by our small business. Skating $12, Skate Hire $3. Thanks!

12.01.2022 Ahhhhh... it's that time of year when the **horrendously overpriced** Melbourne Show returns. Parents - have you instead considered taking the kids to support the Royal Geelong Show in just a couple weeks time? It takes about the same time to get there (without all the traffic lights and parking hassles); offers FAR better value for money; and captures the true spirit of a regional agricultural show, which simply does not translate in the city of Melbourne.

02.01.2022 Dear wonderful skaters, customers and families of Laverton Skate Centre. It saddens us to advise that after nearly 37 years of continuous operation, our beloved rink is now closed indefinitely in compliance with trading restrictions during the current COVID-19 pandemic. To our amazing staff, thank you dearly. We hope that we can emerge from this and you are able to resume your employment with us, (including resuming our own...).... Just like all in our community, we are entirely uncertain what lies ahead, but we are supportive of these strong measures necessary for our country; and especially for those who are most vulnerable. Please - don't wait until you are forcibly told to stay home. Don't be 'that person still going to the beach' - you know what we mean. The time for complacency has well passed. Get yourself started now. Remain indoors as much as you possibly can, starting now. Spend time with family, pick up that book, get out that jigsaw puzzle, play that game you always wanted to. If you do need to head out... again - that's **need** to (not want to, big difference), do remain a SOLID distance from others and practice exceedingly good hygiene. Think of yourself AND PLEASE ALSO think of others. Think ahead and consider the potential future consequences of your choices and actions. Someone you know; someone they know; someone they've never known; might not then become a victim. Please watch this VERY powerful animated image below... Save it. Share it. Post it. Save time, save lives. We thank you all for your support and look forward to our doors opening again soon. Thanks, take care and stay safe. All of us at Laverton Skate Centre
