23.01.2022 Playing on the river today!

22.01.2022 All windows, cockpit locker lids, front hatch, anchor hatch and majority of the deck hardware removed!!

21.01.2022 Sail repair time!!

20.01.2022 The tear down has begun!

19.01.2022 Week(end) number 4. Down to the factory blue paint.........

17.01.2022 Slow going.... it took all weekend to get to this point........ still a few weekends to go before all the layers of paint lift off.

16.01.2022 Removed all the gear today - really thought I had more junk than this.

16.01.2022 This mushroom air vent has driven us insane collecting the jib sheet and tangling every second tack. Especially annoying solo sailing having to stall the boat to go forward to untangle. I’m surprised another owner in the boats 40 year history didn’t do something about it. Anyways I did and ripped it out. Firstly made up a glassed over board with a loose fitting plug. Then siliconed the board from underneath in place. Then ran resin into the gap between the hole and the plug then layered glass over the top. Solid as a rock!

15.01.2022 Fixed all the cracks/dodgy bits and finally hit her with the primer! What a massive job!!!!

15.01.2022 Jammed roller reef king gooseneck. Removed, pulled apart and greased up, reinstalled all good!

15.01.2022 #thekidsroom @ Hen and Chicken Bay

15.01.2022 Huge crack in the sliding hatch - a small piece of timber had been holding it together and very lucky it didn’t snap with all the walking on it. Any way, glassing over the timber then glassing the whole thing in there will fix it.

13.01.2022 A little run around Parramatta River last weekend

12.01.2022 Started sanding off the anti slip to expose the cracks and air pockets. Feel like this is going to take a while...........

11.01.2022 Could you pick a worse time to fail.............

09.01.2022 To windy for a comfortable sail with the kids this weekend so we got started on the best next thing!!

09.01.2022 New gunwalls! Inspired by another Investigator owner who’s idea is that as its only sacrificial timber anyway make it cheap and easy. Instead of getting 6 meter strips of teak or oak made and moulded For a small fortune I’ve used 4 x 3 meter pieces of pre moulded pine with teak stain and varnish. Another 4 strips of square pine sit under the deck for the moulded strips to screw into. Also change the configuration from mounting above the deck to sitting flushing with deck so water can run away freely now. Due to this change the staunchions needed to be mounted directly onto the deck with custom made UV stabilised plastic.

06.01.2022 Off with the pop top and out with the gear

06.01.2022 Sailing around hen and chicken bay on a raining day in October 2019

02.01.2022 Probably going to need a lot more of this stuff......

01.01.2022 Thought everyone already knew this . . . .
