This has happene...d a few times but today it really made me think about how often this happens to a lot of women working In men jobs. We were debriefing at the end of the day and we thought why not spread the appreciation we have for these woman and give them abit of a shout out. So if you are a woman and you work in a man job or know someone who dose, please tag them and post a picture of what you/they do, we would love to see your photos and keep the appreciation flowing! #womancandoittoo See more

20.01.2022 Spring is when we start thinking about getting rid of all those winter weeds, dethatching our lawns, aerating, topdressing, etc. Before you think any further though... THINK FERTILISER! Fertilising BEFORE you do any of the above, gives your lawn the kickstart in needs to get out of winter dormancy and it also speeds up the recovery after spring treatments tremendously. Need help or advice... contact Lawn and Order SWU! #Fertiliseyourlawn #Lawntreatments #Lawncarebusselton #balancedfertiliser #ecogrowth

20.01.2022 It is time to get those wintergrass pre-emergents organised. #wintergrass #preemergent

19.01.2022 Wintergrass... the grass you dont want. It is a soft, bright green coloured grassy weed that becomes prevalent during winter. Due to its resistance to a wide range of chemicals, it can be very difficult to get rid of, once established. Mature plants also produce hundreds of seeds, which end up in the soil. The wintergrass population could eventually become so dense, that it chokes out the existing lawn. This weed is best treated with a pre-emergent herbicide before the ...plant becomes visible, killing it at germination. Wintergrass starts to germinate during autumn, which makes NOW the best time to stop it in its tracks. Dont wait until its too late... 17.01.2022 It's time to pop up those sprinklers! Spring is here! Now would be a good time to make sure your retic is working, to prevent water stress during summer. #retic #getthosesprinklersworking #springishere

15.01.2022 Before spraying for beetles, worms, etc that are 'damaging' your lawn, think of all the good organisms that will die too. If you are not 100% certain that your lawn is being damaged by insects, do not spray insecticides. Instead, ensure that your lawn is getting sufficient water, that hydrophobic soil is not causing dry spots and that your lawn is getting fertilised regularly with fertiliser, that is not only good for your lawn, but also for your soil.

15.01.2022 SUMMER LAWN CARE TIP: Make sure you keep your lawn hydrated on these really hot days. Your lawn looses a lot of moisture due to high evaporation rates when the temperatures rise to mid or high 30s, especially if it sits on hot, gutless south-western sand. If these hot days fall outside of your watering days, it would be a good idea to give your lawn that little bit extra by hand watering. Should you be lucky enough that it falls on your scheduled watering day, you can top-up your irrigation by running another program late afternoon. Best practice is to water early in the morning, but on really hot days, it is advisable to give your lawn that late afternoon watering too. #lawnandorderSWU #professionallawncare #busselton #southwest

06.01.2022 Fertiliser... food for your lawn. We all desire a green, healthy and lush lawn. However, wishing for it won't make it happen, your lawn needs a bit of help. As with us humans, lawn requires essential nutrients to grow well. The timing of applications and the type of fertiliser used is crucial in growing a healthy, green lawn.... From early spring through to autumn, it is best to fertilise every 8 weeks. Using lighter rates, more frequently, ensures constant nutrient availability, prevents massive growth spurts and gives your lawn the best possible chance to fight off pests and diseases. The most important application is right before winter, which should be at a higher rate. You want to make sure that your lawn is growing vigorously going into winter, to prevent dormancy. The other important factor in getting fertilising right, is using a well balanced, slow release NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potassium) fertiliser with trace elements. What benefits do these elements have: Nitrogen (N) - promotes leaf growth and gives lawn its deep green colour. Phosphorous (P) - critical for root growth and development Potassium (K) - promotes formation of strong cell membranes and is essential to fight off stress, pests and diseases Calcium (Ca) - is a major constituent of cell walls and aids in uptake and movement of other nutrients around the plant Magnesium (Mg) - promotes nitrogen metabolism and chlorophyll synthesis Sulphur (S) - forms proteins in the plant and plays a big role in nitrogen utilisation Zinc (Zn) - aids in cell elongation, sugar consumption and uniform growth Manganese (Mn) - important for defence against disease, nitrogen uptake, photosynthesis and activation of enzymes Copper (Cu) - essential for chlorophyll production and photosynthesis Iron (Fe) - aids in disease resistance, chlorophyll formation and good colour Remember not to fertilise during our wet, winter months, using granular fertiliser. Due to leaching, nutrients end up in our waterways, suffocating the delicious blue swimmer crabs, which should rather be enjoyed with some garlic butter. #fertiliser #lawnandorder #greenlawns #busselton Ecogrowth

05.01.2022 The amount of water your lawn is getting depends on the type of sprinklers AND the duration they are running for. Fixed spray sprinklers put out a lot of water in a short period of time, whereas rotary sprinklers will have to run for a longer period of time, to achieve the same output. #sprinklers #wateringtimes #irrigation

05.01.2022 Stress due to lack of water - Identification, Possible Causes, Solutions Identification- Lawn gets a blueish/greyish tinge; Leaf blades close up, making it look narrower;... Feels crispy under foot Causes- Soils can get hydrophobic, which causes water to pool on top of the surface instead of soaking down to where the roots absorb the moisture; Faulty sprinklers or inadequate sprinkler coverage; Soil compaction; Lawn grubs or fungus Solutions- A soil wetter has to be applied to hydrophobic soils to assist in the capillary action of water; Faulty sprinklers need to be replaced, sprinklers need to be adjusted to ensure adequate coverage; To remedy soil compaction, the lawn needs to be aerated; If an infestation of lawn grubs or a fungus is found to be the cause of water stress, an insecticide or fungicide has to be applied. #deadspotsinmylawn #lackofwater #lawnandorderbusselton
